PINK PARTY WITH A PURPOSE Pittsburgh’s finest – dressed to impress in pink– came out in droves for the annual event. BY SARAH HOLDEN
The second annual Pink Party with a Purpose was once again the place to see and be seen – in pink, of course. Hosted at Villa Southside on Saturday, July 28, the fete benefitted the Pittsburgh chapter of The Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign, which aims to raise awareness about heart disease in women. The event was organized and founded by Michele Garris. Encouraged attire for women was, of course, pink, while men were told to “dress to impress.” Inside, guests were treated with desserts and hors d’oeuvres, but the main event of the night was definitely the Chelsea’s of New York fashion show, a parade of long legs, high heels and of course, a plethora of pink. Designs by Glamour House, J. Valentine, Kamala Collection and Roma Costume were showcased at the fashion show, which was emceed by Frank Murgia, a Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest alumni. Another highlight of the night included a raffle prize giveaway, featuring donated items from Sephora, Victoria’s Secret, Salon Vivace, Massage Envy, Macy’s and Chelsea’s of New York. com. Additional sponsors for the event included Chelsea’s of New York.com, Clique Vodka, Massage Envy of Squirrel Hill, Salon Vivace of Treesdale, and BarSmart.com.
