Who is Miss Meatball you ask? Well, Sara Lechman, is the founder and chef of Miss Meatball, a mobile food truck that can be seen driving all over Western Pennsylvania. Sara was trained at The International Culinary Institute in New York City, and then went on to work at Capitale and Sho Shaun Hergatt, a Michelin Guide star restaurant. After returning home, she went on to teach inmates at a now closed Greensburg prison how to cook. When she found herself out of a job, she said, “why not try and make it happen now. I figured there wouldn’t be a better time.” So with the help of her family and friends, she did just that. She made it happen. Miss Meatball is now a full service mobile food truck, which features many popular homemade items including the Classic Beef Sandwich and the Chicken Asiago Sandwich. All the meatballs can be served with our without bread, but there is more to ‘Miss Meatball’ than meets the eye. Sara is a classically trained chef who can cook much more than just meatballs and offers catering services for any type of event from birthdays, graduations, work luncheons and all varieties of parties. Rewind Memories started on a cruise ship, progressed to a dorm room, and is now a thriving business on Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill. Owner Adam Kunes spent a semester in 2005 with the Semester at Sea program. There is where he made a slideshow of his travels. Once friends and family saw this, they asked him to do the same for them. When Adam was back on land, he started converting home videos to DVD’s in his college dorm room. This became so popular that it grew into a full-on business. Rewind Memories now offers conversions of all kinds. They can convert your old VHS tapes, as well as 8mm film, Super8 or 16mm film to DVD. Photos, slides and negatives to a digital format and even audio cassette tapes and records. All work is done in house, by hand, so your personal memories will be treated with care. Not only does Rewind Memories offer services for personal use, but they work with businesses, schools and government agencies on professional conversions. Their home base will always be in Pittsburgh, but they are planning on expanding to other cities in the near future. We all have cherished photos and video memories that we want to hold on to.
