What It Takes for Success Like any Cinderella story, Dallas Sauers’s tale started with a dream and a risk.
Lauren Klein, better known as the Pittsburgh Property Diva, created her real estate persona as a way to let clients know she’ll fight for them with unmatched dedication and commitment. The real estate process can be hard to work through, and Lauren acts as a mediator to make it a smooth transition from one home to the next. Lauren is a born-and-raised Pittsburgher who truly knows what it’s like to live in the city. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and went on to get a master’s degree in forensic science from Duquesne University. In 2008, she started selling real estate and soon found her niche. Today, she and her husband (who is also her business partner) Chris Klein reside in Pittsburgh with their seven children.
After years of work in the salon industry, from ages 14 to 21, Sauers decided to break out and start something on her own. “I quit and borrowed $536 from my dad,” said Sauers. “I knew I could create an environment that was posh, clean, and big on education. I still have the receipt for $536.” In July 2012, Sauers opened Dallas Beauty Lounge, a nail salon that sets itself apart from other Pittsburgh establishments in many ways. “I am a national educator for Nail Alliance, which allows me to learn the newest trends and techniques in our headquarters in Los Angeles and bring them back to Pittsburgh.” New services include Microblading, performed by the head esthetician, who’s a national educator on all things brows, and soon Dallas Beauty Lounge will be adding blowouts to its service menu in a new location. Another thing that makes Dallas Beauty Lounge stand out is its exclusive clientele. “Our clients are actually all referred by each other, so you only send your best friends and family. Hence, why our clients are so amazing.” The staff at Dallas Beauty Lounge is also pretty extraordinary, taking education classes and participating in volunteer work to put them a notch above the rest. “Each year, we have certain standards we need to uphold for each staff member. But I never have to force them to do extra work because they’re all awesome.”

But unlike Cinderella, Sauers won’t be turning back any time soon. “I love being a cool new business in a city that’s growing like ours. I think Pittsburgh’s the perfect place to have a fabulous life.”
Business has been especially booming for Lauren since Pittsburgh has been experiencing a renaissance. Today, the city is more than a former steel town. “Pittsburgh is now on the scene as a vibrant, growing, and diverse city,” said Lauren. “We are seeing a large influx of relocation to the area, and I am looking forward to the opportunities that influx presents for our real estate market."
