Why J-Day Camps?
At J-Day Camps, your camper will make lifelong friendships, feel part of a community and explore new skills and interests. They’ll find their passion, feel empowered to take risks and be immersed in Jewish culture under the guidance of our experienced and enthusiastic counselors.

J-Day Camps for Grades K-1 AT SAFRAN PARK OR HALLE PARK • 9 AM – 4 PM • At Anisfield Day Camp campers participate in Camp 360, which is a taste of everything. • Campers who enroll in The Francine & Benson Pilloff Family Performing Arts Camp will have their creative spirit sparked and nurtured while rehearsing for their very own show.
Our kindergarten and 1st grade campers are treated to an active, nurturing and fun-filled experience. Campers will use their imaginations, participate in sports and swimming, and get creative in Makerspace, art and drama.

CAMP 360 – A TASTE OF EVERYTHING! PROGRAMMING INCLUDES: ART
Campers will participate in daily art instruction and explore creativity through multiple mediums. Projects infused with Judaism, nature, STEAM and camp values allow campers to find new ways to express themselves.
MAKERSPACE
Play-Doh®, Magnatiles® and Kinetic Sand®, oh my! Each day, these villages take on a new STEAM based challenge. Makerspace encourages collaboration, fine motor skill development and problem-solving as campers become more confident creators.
SPORTS
Through soccer, baseball, basketball and gaga, campers develop new skills all while being part of a team. Campers will also participate in yoga, obstacle courses and fitness challenges that encourage them to enjoy being active.
MUSIC / DANCE / DRAMA
Song circles, hip-hop and dramatic play allow children to flex their imaginations. They will be introduced to beloved camp traditions and will find themselves singing and dancing all year long.
SWIM
LAKE (HALLE PARK ONLY)
Each day, campers participate in both instructional and free swim. Under the guidance of our aquatics staff, campers gain new skills in and out of the water.
Paddle boats, Aqua Jumps, sand castles and more! Campers love age appropriate water play at our Halle Park lakefront.
SAFETY TOWN (KINDERGARTEN)
What a better way to explore our beautiful campus than through an immersive Teva (Nature) program. Campers will be guided on nature walks, trail hikes, outdoor adventures and more!
Our kindergarten campers learn about emergency preparedness, fire safety, weather, traffic, bike riding, street crossing and stranger safety – all right here at camp during Session 3.

PROGRAMMING INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DAILY SPECIALS MUSIC
From camp classics to Broadway tunes, campers will sing their hearts out, engage in musical games, build their own instruments and explore their voices. DANCE & CREATIVE MOVEMENT Get grooving through yoga, gymnastics, prop-play, ribbon dancing, make-believe movement and the ins and outs of dance. DRAMA & IMPROV In drama, campers will stretch their imaginations, explore storytelling, play and create characters, and try their hand at improvising!
ART Sewing, mask-making and favorite camper crafts oh my! Campers will participate in arts and crafts projects and put their skills to work creating costume pieces and designing their own puppets.
CREATORS’ CORNER Each day, campers will have choice time using a variety of artistic mediums to respond to a prompt. This ageappropriate opportunity to make and share art will help spark and honor the creativity in each camper.
SWIM Campers will swim in The J’s outdoor pool each day. Plus, they’ll get to enjoy the Safran Park inflatable water slide and sprayground.
REHEARSAL Campers will rehearse their very own show, complete with a character, speaking lines, choreography and singing solos for each camper, regardless of prior experience. The nurturing and educational rehearsal experience is geared specifically to young performers, many of whom are performing for the first time. As they rehearse, campers will also build courage, celebrate their individuality and come together as a team.
OUTDOOR PLAY Enjoy our Beachwood campus with nature walks, yoga and guided outdoor play.
Extend your Performing Arts Camp experience all year round with Playmakers Youth Theatre.
SHOW TIME At the end of each session, campers will take the stage for their performance. Nitzotzot campers will also perform in our PAC-wide show, Peace, Love, PAC. We can’t wait for your camper to experience their moment in the spotlight! Anisfield Day Camp for Grades 2-6
Anisfield campers in grades 2 through 6 will enjoy our beautiful, wooded property in Burton, Ohio for Camp 360, Athletics and Creative Arts. These campers start their day at The J in Beachwood with a full camp Rock the Rock gathering, then continue finding their fun with friends and counselors during an active bus ride to Burton. MAJORS Choosing a major gives your camper a chance to spend up to 40% of their day in a specific program area doing a deeper dive into something they choose. All campers will participate in swimming daily and have the opportunity to go to the lake and ropes course.
ATHLETICS
Campers have an hour of daily athletics where they build and hone new skills. Additionally, campers’ schedules contain a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, soccer, Krav Maga and the Ninja Warrior course!
CAMP 360
Looking to get the best of all things camp? Camp 360 is just that. Every day, campers will get creative with arts, crafts and performing arts activities. They will learn about teamwork and sportsmanship while participating in a variety of sports and games.
CREATIVE ARTS
Explore the world of visual arts. Projects include a variety of mediums and techniques including painting, collaging, charcoal, graffiti, mixed media and more.
MAJORS WITH ADDED FEES CHOPP’D CHEF
Each day our aspiring chefs will participate in activities inspired by some of their Food Network favorites. Through different challenges and mediums of cooking, campers will go on a variety of tasty adventures.

HORSEBACK RIDING
It’s a full equestrian experience. In addition to horseback riding, you will learn how to care for horses including grooming, feeding and total care.

J-DAY CAMPS GOES TO CAMP WISE

Machar enables first-time campers to experience all that Camp Wise has to offer. Campers live in the Chalutzim village (grades 3-5) and participate in the same evening programs and daily chugim (activities) as the Chalutzim campers. Highlights include the 4th of July carnival and camp fireworks show.
Campers who choose this Major will attend all of Session 3. From July 15 -19 and July 22, campers will participate in Camp 360 at Halle Park. On Tuesday, July 23 campers will be bussed to Camp Wise to begin their Camp Wise experience, which goes through Sunday, July 28.
Camper care is the #1 priority and the Machar staff are trained to help with first-time campers. The counselors specialize in ensuring that these campers are supported as they try new activities, make new friends and become more independent with each new day.
While at camp, campers will live in a village with Camp Wise younger campers in cabins that have attached bathrooms and showers. They will experience all that camp has to offer from archery to arts & crafts to the adventure ropes course.

Performing Arts Camp for Grades K-8 SAFRAN PARK AT THE MANDEL JCC, BEACHWOOD
The J's Performing Arts Camp (PAC) is a place for campers of all experience levels to stretch their imaginations, gain confidence on and off the stage, find their voices, and build lifelong friendships. Through playing a character, singing their hearts out, and nurturing instruction that celebrates each individual’s creativity, PAC campers grow as performers and people. After a full J-Day Camps Rock the Rock gathering, they experience theater classes, electives, art and swimming in The J's outdoor pool—all while rehearsing their shows. Campers dive deeply
into specials such as improv and costume design, build new skills in masterclasses and workshops, and choose electives like hip hop and a cappella! As they bring productions to life, campers have fun in the sun while they grow, create and shine on stage. NEW THIS SUMMER Campers entering kindergarten and first grade can join us for Nitzotzot, our nurturing and creative program. Bamayim campers can look forward to performing a full-scale book musical.

REHEARSAL
Each village spends the session rehearsing for opening night. All performers have a featured role with singing solos and speaking lines. Rehearsals are process-driven and help campers build skills and confidence. Campers in grades 4-8 may choose to participate as a "techie" behind the scenes, instead of on the stage.
SHOWSCASE
Campers in grade 2-8 will choose an artistic medium to pursue throughout the session. From puppetry to modern dance and songwriting to Shakespeare, campers will do a deep dive into their chosen topic. At the end of the session, campers will showcase this newfound passion in our Peace, Love, PAC show!

In this camp-wide showcase, audiences are invited to take a peak into a PAC summer. Our talented staff and campers share performing offerings, participate in camp traditions and celebrate a successful session in this fan-favorite performance.

At the end of each session, each village performs a splashy, spectacular show! Campers act, play characters, dance and sing their hearts out in fabulous and fun performances complete with creative costumes. Each camper has their moment in the spotlight!
Our oldest Performing Arts campers enjoy beloved activities while also choosing elements of their daily schedule. Bamayim campers will rehearse for an additional performance opportunity, enjoy extra master classes and focus on ensemble-building, artistic creativity and leadership skills.
