JULY 2024

Your Drop has arrived, and with it comes two entirely new bottles of bourbon you’ll want to rip open right away. Starting off, we have The Heart Release, also known as the first expression in the highly anticipated Series 2 of our Wood Finishing Series. And right alongside it, you get Ambassador Release #1 — a bottle you will equally love in your glass and be excited to share with others.

If you decide to keep it all to yourself, however, we’d love to at least share a glass with you during our complementary virtual tasting on Wednesday, August 7, at 6:30 p.m. EST. We’ll answer some of the questions you may not find answers to in this PDF and talk through other details you may find interesting. Tap the button below to join.

Cheers,

SERIES 2 OF THE

The first bottles of our Wood Finishing Series were all about honoring the techniques that made it possible for our founders to achieve their unique taste vision. As we began to think on what could follow, we knew the next logical step was to honor the people who have kept those techniques and processes alive for decades. This next series is all about these Unsung Heroes and capturing Maker’s Mark® through their eyes — and tastebuds.

2024

This bottle is the first in Series 2 of our Wood Finishing Series. We pulled in 21 members of our distillery team to bring to life their taste vision, which took the blending of two custom French oak staves — one aged for five weeks and the second aged for nine. The result is their

Ambassador Release #1

Late last year, we began sampling a few expressions at events around the U.S. with the goal of deciding which would become this special release bottle. Instead of choosing ourselves, we let the Maker’s Mark® Ambassador community decide, holding a vote to determine the preferred vision. The bottle you just received was the clear winner — earning a substantial 42% of the community vote. With a result like that, we’re sure it’ll win you over as well.

AROMA: Rich chocolate, red apple, toasted caramel

TASTE: Coffee, whipped sweet cream, Madagascar vanilla

FINISH: Long finish, mouth coating

A LOOK BACK Through THE Bottles

2019: RC6

Beginning it all, RC6 was created to feature the more pronounced fruit notes while retaining the balance of baking spice and sweetness in Maker’s Mark®.

2020: SE4 x PR5

The following year, SE4 x PR5 had major shoes to fill (along with patiently waiting glasses). It was really meant to emphasize the caramel and vanilla.

2021: FAE-01 & FAE-02

This was the first double release – with FAE-01 focusing on barrel extractives and FAE-02 highlighting mouthfeel. FAE stands for Fatty Acid Esters, in case you were wondering or forgot.

2022: BRT-01 & BRT-02

With BRT, we shared the unique history of hand-rotating our barrels. BRT-01 told the story of their first three years at the top of the warehouse, and BRT-02 was about the final years at the bottom.

2023: BEP

Last but not least, BEP brought our Barrel Entry Proof to the spotlight. It showcased the influence of our very intentional and critical choice to go into the barrel at 110 proof.
