HOT JAZZ. HEATED DEBATES. SUBTROPICAL WEATHER.
IF YOU WANT A TRADITIONAL EXPERIENCE, THAT’S NOT TULANE.
We acknowledge and pay tribute to the original inhabitants of this land. The city of New Orleans is a continuation of an indigenous trade hub on the Mississippi River, known for thousands of years as Bulbancha. Native peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial, and the resilient voices of Native Americans remain an inseparable part of our local culture. With gratitude and honor, we acknowledge the indigenous nations that have lived and continue to thrive here.

BEAUCOUP* SCHOLARSHIPS
Tulane offers both need-based and merit-based scholarships, most of which are renewable for your four years at Tulane. Many of our scholarships are awarded on the basis of both need and merit (academic, athletic, or talent) and have renewable criteria. Scholarship amounts range from $1,000 to those that cover our full tuition or even full cost of attendance.
All applicants are considered for partial merit scholarship by completing the Common Application for admission. To be considered for all scholarships, however, you should complete the following five steps as we may evaluate both your need and merit in our awarding process:
5 STEPS FOR SCHOLARSHIP CONSIDERATION
1. Complete the Common Application for admission;
2. Complete the CSS Profile by our financial aid deadlines (international students who are non-U.S. citizens should also complete Tulane’s Declaration & Certification of Finances);
3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (if you are a U.S. citizen or eligible resident) by our financial aid deadlines;
4. Submit supporting documentation when requested by our Office of Financial Aid;
5. Complete the Tulane Scholarship Application, audition, or portfolio by December 5th.

LOUISIANA PROMISE
If a Louisiana student’s dream is to come to Tulane - if admitted - finances should no longer be on obstacle to overcome. Tulane’s Louisiana Promise to Louisiana students is Tulane will meet full, institutionally-calculated financial need without loans for eligible undergraduates. Tulane’s Louisiana Promise is for students who graduate from a Louisiana high school, have been admitted as a first-time, full-time freshman for a Fall semester, and whose families have annual adjusted gross incomes of $100,000 or less as associated with prevailing financial aid applications. Eligibility is determined by the submission of the FAFSA, CSS Profile, and all other requested documents by April 15. For eligible students, Tulane ensures that the cost of tuition, fees, books, room and board, meal plan, and budgeted transportation will be met with a combination of Tulane scholarships, the institutional expected family contribution, federal grants, and outside grants and scholarships. Tulane was founded in 1834 as the Medical College of Louisiana in an effort to address the city’s Yellow Fever epidemic. In 1884, merchant Paul Tulane donated over $1 million to endow a university “for the promotion and encouragement of intellectual, moral, and industrial education” as an act of gratitude for the City of New Orleans. Paul Tulane’s donation established the Tulane Educational Fund, which today has grown to more than $1 billion. The Medical College of Louisiana changed its name to the Tulane University of Louisiana in his honor. Tulane University is now comprised of 10 schools, most of which are on the uptown campus, with the exception of the School of Medicine, the School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, and the School of Social Work, which are located downtown near Tulane’s original campus in the New Orleans BioDistrict. Tulane undergraduates – while all members of Newcomb-Tulane Undergraduate College – study across five schools: Architecture, Business, Liberal Arts, Public Health, and Science & Engineering.
The Uptown Campus is ¾ of a mile long and ½ a mile wide spanning 110 acres. It is located approximately 4 miles from the Central Business District and French Quarter.
Please note, for ease of viewing, not all buildings are included on this map. For a more detailed map of our Uptown campus, please visit ADMISSION.TULANE.EDU/MAP.
