SUMMER HAS WELL AND TRULY ARRIVED AND HOPEFULLY THE WEATHER HAS HELD UP ITS END OF THE DEAL AS THE LUXEMBOURG CITY TOURIST OFFICE (LCTO) BRINGS US TWO DAYS OF MUSIC FROM LUXEMBOURG AND AROUND THE WORLD.

n Saturday 11 July the MeYouZik festival brings together some of the biggest names in âworld musicâ, highlights of the programme include Playing For Change, a collective of street musicians campaigning for and promoting peace through their music, Winston McAnuff & Fixi, the enfant terrible of reggae, Blitz The Ambassador, an African hip-hop artist madeââ in New York, and Palenke Soultribe, who blend together a number of styles & genres to create what they call electronic Afro fusion. While these four headline acts will perform on the main Lion Stage on the place Guillaume II, there will also be many artists performing at other smaller stages set

throughout the city. At the place Clairefontaine and on the Holy Ghost Stage, nine other artists will perform throughout the day: Analog Soundsystem & Mc Debby, Alice Francis, Mbongwana Star, Max Pasham, Ukuata-K, Machete, Debademba, GangbĂ© Brass Band & Les Mamas. The MeÂYouZik festival highlights and celebrates the multicultural nature of a city that is 68% immigrant. Then the next day, Sunday 12 July, the programme resumes with the Rock um Knuedler festival, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary.
