FR Octobre : le mois des déguisements, de l’extravagance, du faux sang et des zombies sera célébré à la Cinémathèque par une double projection spéciale de La Famille Addams et Massacre à la tronçonneuse.

FR En octobre et en novembre, la Cinémathèque proposera une sélection de films d’Alan Parker en hommage au cinéaste récemment disparu, dont les films ont remporté de nombreux prix et reçu la bourse BAFTA 2013 pour leur contribution au septième art.

Notre immersion dans son univers débutera par un grand classique devenu culte, Midnight Express, l’histoire vraie d’un Américain condamné en Turquie à 30 ans de prison pour trafic de haschisch, et par le documentaire musical Pink Floyd: The Wall. Nous verrons ensuite deux adaptations de romans, Birdy et Angel Heart.

Le premier évoque l’amitié de deux jeunes hommes au retour de la guerre du Vietnam, et le second est un thriller néo-noir impliquant un détective sur fond de sorcellerie et de magie noire.

Enfin, l’une des œuvres projetées ce mois-ci sera Mississippi Burning, un film librement inspiré d’événements réels :

l’assassinat d’activistes des droits civiques dans les années 60.

EN Across the months of October and November, the Cinémathèque will show a selection of Alan Parker films to mark the director’s passing, whose work won multiple awards as well as the BAFTA Fellowship in 2013 for his contributions to cinema.

We kick off our look into his opus with cult classic Midnight Express, the true story of an American who receives a 30-year sentence for smuggling hashish out of Turkey, and the musical documentary Pink Floyd: The Wall. Two book adaptations, Birdy and Angel Heart are next, the first revolving around the friendship of two young men post-Vietnam, the second a psychological neo-noir thriller involving a detective, witchcraft and devilry. Finally, making the cut for this month is Mississippi Burning, a film loosely based on the murders of civil rights activists in the 60s.
