MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
Annual Meeting of Equity Members & Board of Director Election
The Club’s Nominating Committee has begun its search for qualified candidates for the three (3) Board of Director seats that will be coming open in March. As you may know, Tony Dalby, Dave Hill and Kevin Ryan are completing their Board of Director terms this season. Thus, the Club will be electing three (3) Directors, each with 3-year terms, at the Annual Meeting of Equity Members on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 6:00pm.
Bob Radunz General Manager/ COO
If you would be interested in becoming a Member of the Club’s Board of Directors, we encourage you to submit a one-page summary of qualifications and Club Board/Committee experience, along with your reason(s) for wanting to serve as a Director to Allysa Richveis, Member Services, via email at ARichveis@QGLNaples.com or in person at the Club. The deadline for candidate submissions is 5:00pm on Friday, February 10, 2023.
The Nominating Committee will review the candidate submissions, interview candidates and recommend the names of Equity Members of the Club, selected by a majority vote of the Nominating Committee, to the Equity Membership for consideration to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors. The Club will then communicate the names of the nominated Equity Members and their qualifications to the General Membership at least twenty (20) days prior to the annual meeting.
If you are not receiving our weekly email communications, please contact Allysa Richveis in the Administrative Office by telephone (239) 260-3756 or email arichveis@qglnaples. com to ensure the Club has your correct email address and contact information. We don’t want you to miss all the fun and excitement this upcoming year, so please check the Club’s weekly email blasts, website and calendar of events www. QuarryGolfNaples. com for the most current information regarding Member events, activities, and general Club information.
The Club has also scheduled a Meet the Candidates Night on Wednesday, March 8 at 6:30pm, providing the Membership the opportunity to get to know any of the Board of Director candidates with whom they are not familiar. Although there will not be any questions asked from the floor that night, we encourage the Membership to contact each candidate with any questions.
Voting will open at 12:00pm on Thursday, March 9. Voting for this year’s election will be entirely electronic. There will be no manual ballots accepted. The Club will have a laptop available in the Clubhouse in the event a member does not have a computer at home.
We look forward to identifying the best possible candidates to continue leading the Club forward. If you have any questions about becoming a Director or the nominating process, please feel free to me at the Club or a current Member of the Board.
If you have any questions about the Club or your Membership, please don’t hesitate to contact me in person at the Club, via email BRadunz@QGLNaples. com, or by telephone (239) 304-0561. We look forward to seeing you at the Club often this season!
Warm regards,
Bob Radunz General Manager/COO
UPDATE YOUR CLUB INFORMATION
Our golf event registration will remain all online through our ForeTees tee time system. This will permit members to view event information, see other participants and to sign-up or cancel all online. If you have any questions or problems with the system, please stop into the golf shop and a member of the staff will be here to help. Our Golf calendar of events can be found on the Club Website, through ForeTees or via hard copies in the golf shop.
Tagmarshal Implementation
The Quarry Golf Club has partnered with Tagmarshal, a golf course optimization technology that uses data transmitted from golf cart GPS devices to improve pace of play, golf course flow and assist Golf Course Maintenance with traffic patterns and the geo-fencing of sensitive areas. Pace of play is a critical component to an enjoyable golf experience. The Quarry’s pace of play has been a consistent topic of discussion and we expect Tagmarshal to improve the overall golfing experience for our Membership. The real time data provided by the Tagmarshal devices will enable quicker responses from our Golf Staff to improve slow play situations and ensure a better Member golfing experience. The Golf Staff will have full 360-degree coverage of the golf course and the location of each group, providing actionable pace of play information.
The rollout of the Tagmarshal system is expected to last 2-3 months until all Club fleet carts and Member private carts are compliant with a Tagmarshal installed device. In 2023, the Club is increasing the Private Cart Trail Plan fee to $2565 plus tax which includes the cost of the classic Tagmarshal device and the 18hole Member Cart fee to $29 plus tax. Private cart owners with more than one cart on their trail plan will be required to have a device on each cart ($175/year for each additional classic device). Private cart owners must select between three installation windows for their Tagmarshal device in the link provided below. All Private Cart device installations will occur in the Clubhouse parking lot. The classic Tagmarshal devices will be installed on all golf carts in the Club’s fleet. The classic Tagmarshal device is a passive device (one-way communication) that is connected to the battery under the seat. Private cart owners have the option to upgrade from a classic device to an 8” GPS Screen (click link below for features of the 8” GPS screen) at an additional cost of $110 per year. The 8” GPS Screen allows two-way communication, so the Club may send important messages to the screen display.
Explore 8” GPS Screen here: https://vimeo.com/767331864
Below are the scheduled installation windows for all Private Cart Owners:

Hole-In-One Club
All Golf Members are automatically included in the Club’s Hole-In-One Club – Primary, Secondary and Immediate Family Members (Children). All costs associated with the Hole-In-One Program will be absorbed in the Club’s operating budget.
Each Golf Member who has a Hole-In-One at the Club during a qualifying round of golf will be entitled to a:
• Commemorative Plaque
• $250 in Golf Shop credit for merchandise purchases

When a Golf Member gets a Hole-In-One, the Golf Member must report the hole-in-one to the Golf Staff immediately, but no later than the completion of the round. The Golf Staff will then send out a communication to all Golf Members, notifying them of the hole-in-one and that they have 2-days to redeem their complimentary beverage (the day of the hole-in-one and the day after).
Members may redeem their complimentary beverage in the Clubhouse Grille Room only and there will be no extensions for the redemption of Hole-In-One beverages. Complimentary beverages will be limited to beer, wine and well drinks (no top shelf or premium drinks).

MAINTENANCE
From the Course
I hope everyone is enjoying their time here at The Quarry this season. The Golf Course Maintenance Team continues to work diligently on the golf course to ensure the best possible playing conditions. Mother Nature has definitely made things very challenging this season with regard to turf grass conditioning!
In this addition to our daily golf course responsibilities, I would like to bring to light our environmental stewardship and what we continue to do for our birding habitat. As you may know, the Club has had a partnership with Brian Beckner from Native Bird Boxes to allow for his expertise when it comes to local and migratory birds. Over the years, many of our Members have attended one of our Quarry Nature Tours where Brian tours the golf course and native areas on the front 9 golf holes. He talks about the various species of birds and other wildlife found here on the property.
Brian not only provides Member tours, but he also maintains all of the bird houses located throughout the golf course and native areas. Every year before the migratory birds begin to relocate to Southwest Florida, Brian goes through each and every bird house and checks to make sure the box is suitable for the correct species. Brian also does an annual bird survey to see how different species are doing year-over-year. All of this data is collected throughout Southwest Florida and shared to other groups to help understand the migration habits of many of the different species.

On next page you will see a detailed description of where each bird house is located and what species is expected to inhabit that nest. Over the past few years there have been a few changes to some locations due to the fact that the nesting is not taking place. A lot of this work is trial and error in the beginning and takes time to see what is actually taking place in each micro environment.
Rodney Whisman Golf Course Superintendent
Above are two of Brian’s most resent pictures of some of our Quarry birds on the property. The next time you are out playing golf take the time to look around at what The Quarry has to offer in the way of birding and wildlife. It is quite spectacular, as you well know!
