Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another positive and busy few weeks at Trinity Catholic School I would like to take this opportunity to share some of the wonderful things happening across our community
Our recent Open Morning was a great success it was fantastic to welcome so many families into school and to see our students showcasing their pride in Trinity The atmosphere was vibrant, and the feedback from visitors was overwhelmingly positive.
Congratulations also go to our students for their excellent sporting achievements this term. Their dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship continue to make us proud, both on and off the field.
A special mention must go to our Year 7 pupils, who enjoyed an exciting and memorable residential trip to Whitemoor Lakes The trip was a great opportunity for them to build new friendships, develop confidence, and embody our values of faith, service, and community I would also like to thank all the Year 10 and Year 11 pupils and parents who attended our recent GCSE Information Evenings We hope you found these events helpful as students continue their journey towards academic success
We have seen some improvement in uniform standards, and I thank parents for their support with this. However, I ask that all parents ensure their child comes to school fully prepared and wearing the correct uniform each day. High standards in presentation help set the tone for high standards in learning.
We continue to work hard on improving attendance, which remains a key focus for the school. It is vital that every pupil is in school every day, as excellent attendance directly supports excellent progress and outcomes
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support in helping us make Trinity Catholic School a place where every child can thrive
With every blessing,

Mrs Beth Sharpe Principal

At Trinity Catholic School the health, safety and well-being of every child is our top priority. We expect all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment to safeguarding our pupils
We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. All school staff are trained in Child Protection, and children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns. Staff are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
The procedures which we follow have been laid down by the Warwickshire Local Safeguarding Children’s Board and the school has adopted a Child Protection Policy in line with this, for the safety of all. On rare occasions our concern about a child may mean that we have to consult other agencies We will ensure that all concerns are discussed with parent/carers first, before any referrals are made, unless we believe that such a move may be contrary to a child’s welfare
All DSLs can be contacted via tcs-safeguarding@tcs.magnificat.org.uk

We are thrilled to introduce a new feature in our parent newsletter that we know you'll love reading about; our students' "Wow Work"! This month, we're launching a dedicated section to showcase exceptional pieces of work that have truly impressed our teaching staff, and we couldn't be more excited to share these moments of brilliance with our school community
"Wow Work" represents those special moments when a student's effort, creativity, understanding, or progress goes above and beyond expectations. These are the pieces of work that make teachers pause, smile, and think "wow." Whether it is a beautifully crafted mathematical proof, an insightful analysis, or simply work that demonstrates genuine effort and growth, our aim is to celebrate not just academic excellence, but also creativity, persistence, problem-solving skills, and the kind of thinking that shows real depth of understanding
We're delighted to showcase some outstanding work from one of our current Year 11 mathematics classes, who have been studying congruence and similarity. What impressed their teacher wasn't just the accuracy of their solutions, but the clarity of their mathematical reasoning and the systematic approach they demonstrated in the checkpoint task

The featured work beautifully illustrates how our Year 11 students are developing their ability to identify corresponding angles and sides in similar triangles, apply proportional reasoning to solve problems, and communicate their mathematical thinking clearly using ratio tables. One particularly impressive piece shows a student working through multiple examples, clearly labelling corresponding elements, and using precise mathematical language to explain their reasoning process The work demonstrates not only technical competency but also the kind of mathematical maturity we love to see developing in our senior students.
Celebrating student achievements serves multiple important purposes in our school community. Firstly, it recognises and validates the hard work our students put into their learning, boosting their confidence and motivation to continue striving for excellence When students see their work celebrated, it reinforces our focus on developing questioning minds and a thirst for knowledge, qualities we want to nurture in all our learners.
Secondly, sharing exemplary work provides inspiration and learning opportunities for other students By showcasing high-quality examples, we help all students understand what excellent work looks like and provide models they can aspire to in their own learning. This is particularly valuable in mathematics, where seeing different approaches to problem-solving can deepen understanding across the whole class.
Each month, we'll be featuring "Wow Work" from different subjects and year groups, ensuring students have lots of opportunity to see their efforts celebrated. We encourage students to continue putting their best effort into all their work, knowing that exceptional pieces might just find their way into our newsletter for the whole school community to admire
We also invite parents to celebrate these achievements with us and perhaps use them as starting points for conversations with your children about their learning. Ask them about the strategies they're using, the concepts they're exploring, or the progress they're making These discussions can be incredibly valuable in reinforcing classroom learning and showing your child that their education matters to you.
Keep an eye out in future newsletters for more inspiring examples of our students' excellent work We're confident there will be many more "wow" moments to share!

We’re incredibly proud to showcase the work of past pupil Vikki, whose GCSE coursework and exam preparation pieces highlight her exceptional artistic talent. Throughout her time with us, Vikki consistently impressed with both her skill and her dedication to the subject
Much of the artwork on display was developed independently at home, reflecting not only her creativity but also her remarkable focus and commitment. Now continuing her studies at A level, we have every confidence that Vikki will continue to excel Congratulations, Vikki – we're very proud of you!

On Friday 3rd October to Sunday 5th, our Year 7 students headed off to Whitemoor Lakes for a weekend packed with adventure, challenge, and fun. From scaling the rock climbing wall and hitting targets in archery to working together in team-building games, the students took part in a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities designed to build confidence, resilience, and new friendships.

As part of Black History month Year 9 students in History have been learning about the contribution of soldiers from across the Empire to the First World War, using David Olusago’s book the World’s War
This week they used an extract from Stephen Bourne’s Black Poppies about the First World War experiences of local soldier Lionel Turpin Our classroom book displays have also been updated for Black History month.

Trinity Catholic School History Research Group are taking part in an exciting new project ' In their footsteps' with the charity Learning From the Righteous The charity are the custodians of 150 ceramic shoes created by Jenny Stolzenberg in memory of her father and his family's experiences during the 2nd WW. Her father came to Britain after the war as a Jewish refugee from Vienna having been in imprisoned in both Dachau and Buchenwald concentration camps.
Our project aim is as a school community to create 500 shoes. Half of our shoes will form part of a national exhibition, alongside Jenny's original shoes. The exhibition will be on display at Westminster for three weeks in January 2026 Learning from the Righeous charity have also asked us to film their visit to Trinity This film will then be shown during the exhibition at Westminister in January. The other half of our shoes will remain in Leamington, for a local display. It is a great honour to have been invited to be part of the exhibition.
By taking part in the project, we will remember those who can no longer make a mark or footprint, but also consider what our own footprint of change will be?
While all students will be contributing to the project, will be holding a workshop for parents/carers and invited guests from the local community on Tuesday 21st October at 5.30pm. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the project, to view Jenny’s original shoes and contribute to our project by creating your own shoe. Places are limited, if you would like to book a place, please use the link below.
