Dear Parents and Carers,
We are delighted to share that Trinity Catholic School has had a fantastic start to the new academic year. It has been wonderful to see our students return with enthusiasm and a readiness to learn, and we are especially proud of how well our new Year 7 students have settled into life at TCS with the support of both staff and older students.
This term, we are excited to reintroduce Design Technology for Years 7, 8 and 9, giving students the opportunity to study textiles, food and resistant materials. These subjects play an important role in developing creativity, problem-solving and practical skills, and we are thrilled that our students will once again benefit from this broad and balanced curriculum.
As the new Principal of Trinity Catholic School, I am determined to ensure that every young person is successful in their journey with us. Working in partnership with parents and carers is crucial to achieving this, and I thank you in advance for your support. Together, we can create the conditions where every child is able to flourish academically, socially and personally.
To help provide clarity and consistency, we have asked all students to follow our Basic Five:
1 Be on time
2 Be in school every day
3 Engage fully in lessons
4.Be kind
5 Do their best
These simple expectations help set the foundations for success, both in and beyond the classroom. We would greatly appreciate your support in reinforcing these messages at home.
Across the school, we continue to focus on raising standards and expectations so that all students can maximise their learning time and achieve their very best. To support this, we ask for your partnership in ensuring that your child arrives on time every morning and is wearing the correct school uniform with pride. These routines help create a calm, purposeful start to the day.
We are also keen to encourage all students to make the most of the wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities on offer this term. These opportunities are an excellent way to develop new skills, build friendships, and enrich the school experience beyond the classroom.
To help keep you updated and share more of the day-to-day life of our school community, we have recently introduced TCS social media platforms. These will allow us to celebrate student achievements, highlight events and activities, and keep you more closely connected with life at Trinity. We would be delighted if you could follow us and join us in celebrating all that makes our school special.
I look forward to working closely with you over the coming weeks and months as we continue to build on these strong foundations and provide every student at Trinity Catholic School with the very best opportunities to flourish.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Sharpe Principal

Loving God,
As we begin this new school term, we give thanks for the gift of learning, friendship, and community. Bless our pupils with curiosity and joy, our staff with wisdom and patience, and our families with love and support.
Help us to walk together in faith, to show kindness in our words and actions, and to seek You in all that we do
May this term be a time of growth, hope, and blessing for our whole school family
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Friends of Trinity Meeting - Monday 22nd September at 5:30pm in school.
We look forward to welcoming new and existing parents to our first meeting this term. Friends of Trinity is a great way to meet other parents, have fun raising money, and providing much needed financial support that enhances our children's time at Trinity Catholic School. Hope to welcome you to the meeting on 22nd September.

As part of our exciting new Textiles projects, students in Years 7, 8, and 9 will be designing and making their own tote bags and bucket hats this term.
To help us provide the best hands-on experience, we are looking for donations of sewing machines (in good working order only). These will allow more students to practice their skills and complete their projects with pride.
If you have a sewing machine at home that you no longer use, we would be very grateful for your donation.
Donations can be dropped off at the school reception during office hours.
Thank you for supporting creativity and practical skills at Trinity Catholic School!
Coming back to school can feel exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. It’s important to take care of ourselves so we can feel ready, focused, and positive Here are some helpful ways to look after yourself:

As we begin a new academic year at Trinity Catholic School, we are launching our teaching and learning theme of Curiosity and Challenge. This theme is inspired by our founding headteacher, Peter Hastings, whose culture of “Educating the Elephant’s Child” has been passed down through generations and remains at the heart of our work with students today. Rudyard Kipling’s childhood story reminds us that an elephant’s unending questions may land it in trouble; but those same questions spark the curiosity that drives deep learning.
Curiosity lies at the core of passionate learning. Throughout the year, we will explore many ways to encourage students to ask more questions, embrace challenge, and deepen their understanding. You can support your child by celebrating their questions, reassuring them that taking academic risks is beneficial, and reminding them that making mistakes is part of the learning journey.
To kick off our theme, we’ve included a two-minute video below. Please share it with your child and start the conversation at home about what sparks their curiosity We’d also love to feature your family’s favourite unanswered questions in future newsletters - email them to lbell-bayliss@tcs.magnificat.org.uk.
