Master plasterers Half a century in business is truly a massive achievement and it’s a milestone the Galbraith Group is thrilled to be celebrating this year. The Galbraith Group, who are masters of all types plastering work and painting, is proud to have had been operating the Nelson region for the last 50 years and are very much an integral part of the community. The company has built a solid client base in the district thanks to its strong reputation for service and workmanship that is second to none.
A family affair The success of the Galbraith Group can be attributed to the father and son who have been devoted to running the business over the many decades. Galbraith Plasterers Limited was established by Barry Galbraith Senior in 1965. During the following 34 years Barry Snr and his staff plastered thousands of homes and commercial buildings around the top of the South Island. Barry’s son, Barry Galbraith Junior and his wife Nicky purchased the business in 1999. Barry Junior continued on his father’s success expanding the business into a number of relevant industries enabling it to offer a total package from plastering right through to the finished painted exterior. In July 2003 Barry started Galbraith Painting Limited. Galbraith Painting has 11 trade qualified and experienced painters specialising in both interior and exterior painting. Its exterior painting comes with a Weatherproof Warranty. In 2004 nine tradesmen and brick/block layers were recruited to give clients a wider range of
cladding and fencing options. More recently in August 2006 the company purchased a Sandblasting, Industrial Coatings and Powdercoating business. Barry has built the success of his business group on a foundation of personal attention and a sleeves-rolled-up attitude. He is hands-on and makes regular job site visits to ensure work is progressing as planned; putting customer satisfaction at the forefront. Today Galbraith Group is one of the largest plastering companies in the South Island and is the preferred applicator of plastering systems for many major building companies.
