Getting straightened out Shepherd and Kime has been repairing Christchurch cars for more than 40 years. The panel and paint repair company was formed in 1966 by panel beaters Gary Shepherd and Errol Kime, who quickly earned a reputation for high-quality collision repair work.

This work includes panel beating, spray painting, chassis straightening, wheel alignment and balancing, and rust repairs and removal. Gerard Kime says a large part of Shepherd and Kime’s workload involves insurance work, with the company a preferred repairer for most of New Zealand’s major vehicle insurers. The company’s team of skilled technicians have many years’ experience in the panel and paint industry and work hard to get every vehicle operating as soon as possible. <
Today the business is owned by Gerard Kime and Dave Kennedy, who operate two branches in the city - in Antigua Street, Addington, and in Sheffield Crescent, Burnside.
Prior to last year’s February earthquake they operated three sites, with their Tuam Street premises closing afterwards due to earthquake damage. With almost 30 staff employed across both branches, Shepherd and Kime offers a full range of collision repair services for accidents ranging from trolley damage in a car park to major collision repairs and full body sprays.
