Success in tough times Beaver Trees and Landscaping has achieved what most businesses might think is impossible — being named the best overall company under 50 employees in the world at the Business Excellence Awards in Florida. The Christchurch company entered the New Zealand business coaching award two years ago and was named runner up in the marketing section. “This time we were quite blown away to win the award for the best company in the world under 50 employees,” owner Bryce Robb says. “What it means is that all the work we’ve done as a team has paid off. It’s a team effort.”
“This is a very emotional win and an extraordinary journey these past five years. This is just the start of this journey,” Robb says. In addition to its fiscal achievements, Beaver Trees stood out for its excellent customer service and culture. Robb believes the key to success is investing in staff. “We set goals for them every six months and not just goals within the company; it’s also goals in their own personal lives.”
