Employment Correspondence • A sequence of written communication is usually necessary during the job search campaign. This vital exchange between applicant and employer is expected by both. A positive response from an employer usually prompts a detailed series of letters and other paperwork. Proper documentation leaves little room for surprise. Although correspondence is a timeconsuming, business etiquette demand it if you’re serious about making a favorable impression.


The Resume • Also called a data sheet of vita. In this document you present your backgrounds and skills. It contains a summary of relevant job experience and education, they must be in logical order. It must be accurate and complete.




Letters of Application Is a document sent with your resume to provide additional information on your skills and experience, the purpose is to attract an employer’s attention and persuade her to grant you an interview. There are two types of application letters: • A Solicited: It is sent in a response to a help- wanted ad. • Unsolicited: You would like to work even though you know of no particular opening.

Follow-Up Letters • This letter should be courteous and brief. It should merely thank the employer for the interview and restate your interest in the job.



Letters of Reference and Recommendation • The recommendation letter is an endorsement while a reference is a simply a report. A recommendation is a persuasive while a reference verifies facts. Each letter should include: 1. A statement of the letter’s purpose. 2. An account of the duties performed by the applicant or of the applicant’s general qualifications.

Declining a Job Offer • Sometimes we need to decline a job offer because we may find ourselves in the position of choosing from several job offers or an offered job does not meet your needs . This letter should be courteous and discreet. Paragraphs must include: 1. Thanking the offer. 2. Why you can’t accept the job. 3. Goodwill



Rejecting a Job Applicant • There will be one successful candidate but several unsuccessful candidates, a personal letter explaining specific reasons for an applicant’s rejections is professional and preferable. Paragraphs must include: 1. Decline 2. Explanation 3. Goodwill

Letters of Resignation • A resignation letter is a letter formally advising your employer that you are leaving your job. A resignation letter can help you maintain positive relationship with your employer, while paving the way for you to move on.

Letters of Introduction • This letters are written to a business associate on behalf of a third person, such as an employee, customer, or client, they are written when a person you know would like to establish a business relationship with another person. Paragraphs must include: 1. The relationship between you and the person being “introduced” 2. Your reason for introducing him to your reader. 3. What you would like the reader to do for him.



Reports • A report is a presentation of information in an organized format. A well written report contains: 1. A well-defined topic 2. Complete, accurate, wellresearched information. 3. A clear, logical, wellorganized presentation Some reports are informal, others formal. But all reports are based on facts.

During this learning process of unit four I learned a lot of things that I am sure they would help me during my business life, these topics I learned show me how to write any letter I need to use while I'm working of if I need to find a job In commercial it is important to know the different types of letters we need to use for different occasions, in the case of unit four that we learn about the different types of Applications Letters we now know how to recommend and how to make a reference to a person , we also learn about the letters you have to use when you have to decline a job offer and also when you have to reject a job applicant. Also in marketing we learn new topics that would be useful in our career As a conclusion I can say that all of these things are very important for any person in business because with these topics you can achieve any challenge you may have at work or during life.
