impregnados en pintura conformando su obra frente al público. Estos y muchos más son los hechos que siguen transformando el arte, incluyendo la acción de los cuatro “investigadores” que se han reunido bajo el mismo techo del MADC con estas muestras paralelas.
Esta nueva actitud en el arte puede ayudar a purificar nuestras sociedades enfermas al reflejar las toxinas en las emociones, los pensamientos y las relaciones, confrontando al espectador con la realidad que no quiere ver, o con las verdades enriquecedoras que ha olvidado en el mundo material y competitivo que lo envuelve.
La idea inicial del proyecto ha sido darle la oportunidad al público de unir varias maneras de sentir y vivir la vida, representadas a través del arte, en un mismo sitio, sin ser parte de una exposición colectiva, sino más bien de darle a cada artista un espacio para que deposite su obra, como aporte de su pensamiento. De ahí la denominación global del evento como "Cuatro artistas, cuatro visiones" que sienta a la mesa a individuos componentes de la comunidad artística costarricense, que sin prejuicios ni ataduras se mueven con mente de habitante de planeta comprometido, ajenos a fronteras y encasillamientos.
Es a través del arte que conseguimos procesar simbólicamente la realidad, acción que nos ofrece los elementos para ubicarnos en el caótico entorno que habita. Somos parte de una cultura de competencia, con ofertas y demandas que nos abruman en un paisaje tecnológico de constante transformación, que un artista consciente del impacto que recibe, no puede dejar de lado. El artista contemporáneo busca su identidad y la identificación de su entorno dentro de esta vorágine, que le brinde a su interioridad una reconciliación con el mundo externo de hoy.
En síntesis, todas las reflexiones aquí presentadas, vibran con diversas técnicas y materiales, pero todas omiten un grito de alerta que se transforma en una exclamación que no podemos esquivar. Ecos que tocan las fibras más profundas, si las dejamos penetrar en nuestra razón de ser y nos conducen a interrogarnos: ¿qué sentimos? ¿adónde vamos? ¿qué estamos haciendo? ¿qué debemos hacer?.
La aparición del automóvil, el cine y el aeroplano en los albores del siglo XX, repercutieron en la gestación de la historia del arte moderno, con una nueva versión de espacio y tiempo como continuidad y no como noción abstracta. Aparecen propuestas que transforman conceptos como, por ejemplo, las imágenes ilusorias de tres dimensiones en el Cubismo de Picasso y Braque; Brancusi con su escultura abstracta; Marinetti y Buccioni en Italia con el Futurismo; los objetos de Duchamp; Dada y el Surrealismo; Beuys involucrado en performance y acciones con Fluxus en los 60’s; Klein con cuerpos de modelos 3
Conceptos que se conjugan en una junta de pensadores imaginativos que en síntesis, hablan de un ayer que construyó un presente y que se disponen a saltar a un mañana de un arte contemporáneo costarricense de gran fuerza

The initial idea of the project was to give the public the opportunity to link various ways of feeling and living life through art, in the same place, without being part of a collective exhibition. Each artist is given a space to expose his/her work as a contribution of his/her thinking. From there arose the title of the event: "Four Artists, Four Visions". It brings together individuals from the Costa Rican artistic community that, without any prejudices or bonds, evolve with a mind of inhabitants of the planet committed beyond borders and classifications.
It is through art that we manage to symbolically process the reality, by offering us elements to situate ourselves in the chaotic environment. We are part of a culture of competitiveness with supply and demand overwhelming us in a constantly changing technological landscape and an artist aware of the impact he/she receives may not ignore that. The contemporary artist within this whirlpool searches a proper identity and specification of his/her environment, which reconciles him/her with today’s world. The advent of automobile, cinema and airplane in the turn of the 20th century, had repercussions in the nurturing of modern art history, with a new version of space and time as a continuity and not as an abstract notion. Proposals appeared transforming concepts such as three dimensional illusory pictures in Picasso’s and Braque’s Cubism, in the abstract sculptures of Brancusi, Marinetti’s and Buccioni’s Futurism in Italy, in the objects of Duchamp, with Dada and Surrealism; Beuys’ involved in performance and actions with Fluxus in the 60’s and Klein with model bodies soaked with paint and constituting his artwork in front of the public. These and many others are the facts that keep transforming art, such as the action of the four “researchers” who have gathered together under the same roof of the MADC with their parallel samples.
To sum up, all the reflections presented herein refer to different techniques and materials. Nevertheless, all of them also express a cry of alert turning into an exclamation we cannot dodge. They echo into our most inner fibers, should we let them penetrate our reason for being and induce us to ask ourselves these questions: what do we feel, where are we going to, what are we doing, what must we do. These concepts are combined with a team of imaginative thinkers who in short, talk of a past that built a present and are on the point of leaping into the future of a Costa Rican contemporary art of great force going beyond physical and mental barriers. It is a tiny contribution for a new century that will be built upon the shaky bases of mankind in crisis.
