West of the Rasch Passage is the Langsam Reef. Glorious in its tremendous array of colour and life. This site is home to many different types of sea fan and curious sea creatures. Langsam reef is the ideal place for any diver to enjoy their dive in a vibrant colour-filled location. With its weak current and warm temperature, Langsam Reef is the ideal place to visit while diving in Madang.

Nurse Sharks are found in this area, usually peacefully sleeping in their homes. The name nurse is derived from the old english name, ‘hurse,’ meaning sea-floor shark. They usually hunt for small animals that are found on the ocean floor. Their sleepy behaviour is unique to their species.
