The long essay or CAP For review purposes, let’s think about the unit. Here’s our practice scenario to complete together:
To write a great essay, you must first plan out your topics. Aim for at least 3 topics and at least 3 subtopics.
Once you figure out your organization, you can begin with your opening paragraph. It does not need to be long but it should setup the direction of the entire essay. For example, if you have an intro paragraph, 3 main points, and a concluding paragraph, you should have 5 different paragraphs. Each paragraph should begin with an opening sentence that explains the topic of the paragraph. Here are some criteria to follow: It’s short and to the point. It prepares the reader for what you are writing about. It doesn’t give anything away.
