WORDS FROM THE EDITOR:
As of now, we have almost left April 2025 behind us, and a lot of exciting and different things have happened in Metalheads Against Bullying..
The festival season is here, and we are on the move all around Norway. Karmøy, Halden, Magnor, Lillehammer, and Lørenskog are some of the places where you will meet someone from MAB in May.
In this edition of the MAB magazine, you will read more about The Gathering, about how people describe MAB, about inclusion, because it is important for us in MAB. If you want to book one of our lectures, you will also find information about that.
Do you have a story that you would like to tell and share? Please send it in to the editor. I wish everyone a good and safe summer.

HELENE'S THOUGHTS:
I really want to think out loud.. I have my birthday in April, and I always struggle a bit more to keep my head above water this month. Big days are incredibly difficult, they are tied to an expectation of big emotions.
-Emotions are difficult, and for me, the 'good' emotions are the hardest!
As I sit here pondering why this is, I am reminded of something a child said in a bullying meeting at school;
“I don't dare to be myself and show emotions. Then they have something to hold against me.”
Yes, that's how I remember it too, from when I was bullied myself. It wasn't allowed to show emotions, especially the 'good' feelings were heavily suppressed. You were made fun of for smiling, or because you 'laughed too much'.
Why is it like this? Why can't we allow each other to be happy and do well?
For me, it has almost become like an instinct, I avoid the big days, not because I don’t like having a birthday, because I truly want to enjoy the day and show others that it is okay to celebrate yourself, you are worth it, I am worth it, we are worth it!
But because the 'demon on my back' tells me that 'now you are too much, stop taking up so much space!'
"You're so ugly when you smile"
You see it time and again, there are always some who have to comment on others' happiness, digging up something negative to dwell on instead of being happy for them. my thoughts are that as long as there are people out there who can't handle you taking the space you deserve, it is more important than ever to take that space! Be yourself, smile, laugh, enjoy yourself! You deserve to feel good and you know what?
People being themselves and taking up their space, is actually the most beautyfull thing I know <3

THE GATHERING
Metalheads Against Bullying participated for the second time at The Gathering in Hamar. We participated with a booth and a guitar hero tournament.
The Gathering (TG) is one of the largest gaming events in the world, where thousands of technology enthusiasts, gamers, and creative souls gather each year in the Vikingskipet in Hamar for four days filled with games, development, art, music, and community.
The Gathering is held at the Viking Ship in Hamar and is one of the largest computer gatherings in the world. It was founded in 1992, and has grown to become one of the most iconic events for technology and digital art in Norway.
THE GATHERING
The Gathering holds community and values very highly.
Their goal is to further develop The Gathering as a platform for both social, technological, and artistic expressions within e-sports, programming, design, and digital art..
INCLUSION
One of the things we in Metalheads Against Bullying are concerned about is inclusion. Metalheads Against Bullying works a lot with inclusion, we have a genuine desire about that everyone should have the opportunity to be who they want to be, and that everyone deserves an environment free from bullying and harassment.
In the little Norwegian encyclopedia, inclusion is described as follows: Inclusion is about ensuring that everyone can participate in the community and society, and that they feel welcomed, respected, and valued, regardless of background or characteristics. It also involves facilitating physical access, the opportunity to contribute, and participation in learning activities and
