WORDS FROM THE EDITOR: WORDS FROM THE EDITOR:
So May 2025 became history, and we at Metalheads Against Bullying have been very active, and there will be more in June.
In this edition of the MAB magazine, you can read more about the Mylder Festival in Lørenskog, the Meeting Point in Namsos,we are talking about Men`s Mental health and you also get a little glimpse into our webshop. The festival season is here, and here are some of the places you can meet us at MAB in June: Trondheim, Nannestad, Nord-Odal, Steinkjer and Oslo. If you see us at any of these place feel free to stop by and say hi.
Do you have a story that you would like to tell and share? Please send it in to the editor. I wish everyone a good and safe summer.
MAB has initiated a service in the district. A gathering place for everyone who needs a social meeting point..
Every Monday for a period, Hilde Jeanette, Lasse, Ane, Anna Kjerstina, and Gunn have made waffles, brewed coffee, and welcomed everyone who has come by. A low-threshold offer that has been a success, we have had 40-50 people of various ages and nationalities visiting every evening it has been open.

Some are playing board games and socializing with others, some drop by for a waffle and a bit of coffee.
Regardless of what the visitors are here for, there is room for absolutely everyone.
We in MAB have long tried to have an open gathering point, but it was when we introduced board games as an activity that the number of visitors started to pick up. We hope more will stop by eventually, because there is definitely room for more.
Board games are social and not least international, which can be proven, as we have had visits from different nationalities; for example, playing UNO is something everyone can do.
A gathering with board games is held at the community center in Namsos. Mondays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

MYLDERFESTIVALEN MYLDERFESTIVALEN
-Children's very own culture festival in Lørenskog.
Our `stand is right in the thick of it, and we have big plans for the day.
DRAWING COMPETITION!
With tables full of colored pencils and blank sheets, it didn't take long before our tables were full of beautiful drawings. Everyone who participated received stickers.
It is so nice to see how little it takes to create a safe place, where people can come together and create something beautiful.
All day there was a steady flow of people coming by, which created a good and positive atmosphere in our tent.
With exciting entertainment on the stage, including Turbotroll and visits from Bluey & Bingo, along with many fun activities, the day in Lørenskog was a nice break from everyday life.
We hope everyone who stopped by had as nice a time as we did!
Men` s Mental Health Awarness Month Men` s Mental Health Awarness Month
June is one of two months of the year dedicated to raising awareness about men's mental health. We at MAB want to raise our voice throughout June for men who are struggling, and we hope you will hear us..
Why is it so important to focus on men's mental health? The answer is incredibly simple: because focusing on it saves lives. Men dominate the suicide statistics; out of 727 suicides in 2024, 535 are men.
So what is it that makes men take their own lives to a greater extent?
I am one of those who could have become part of the statistics, one of those who eventually thought that I am not being listened to, so what’s the point? And I thought I would show you how I, as a man, was received when I wanted to talk about it, and maybe give you some tips on how I wanted to be met. In that, the harsh brutality struck me, and I realized that I needed more help than just pushing things away; there was also a need for those around me to listen and be present. So when one then tells those around them that I am struggling mentally and need someone to talk to, everyday life becomes more brutal with the responses that came
Do you have someone you can talk to?
Pull yourself together, it's not that damn tough
Stop being so dramatic
You're just looking for attention
Take it like a MAN!
Do you have other feelings than hungry and? Aren't you a man? Take a walk or try yoga
Do you have to talk about all those things? Your thoughts scare me and I'm afraid of what's in your head.
For me, these comments and remarks were enough; they reinforced exactly this idea that as a man, I shouldn't talk about things, that I’m not allowed to, and I certainly won't be listened to. And it showed what prejudices exist when it comes to men's mental health and how seriously a man is taken. But isn't it enough soon? Isn't it time we stop this trend of men not being allowed to speak?
So instead of that list of what about meeting men who want to talk with: We can have a chat, I want to know what's going on and be here for you. Do you want to join me for a trip out? How are you REALLY doing? It's good to hear that you actually want to talk about things. Are you coming over for a coffee? I want to see you. I'll be coming to visit so we can have a chat.
What is wrong with men showing emotions and daring to talk? We cannot lose more men just because some believe that the prejudices that have existed should continue. It is about saving lives. You can either listen and be there when someone wants to talk, or in the worst case, you might be told that yet another life has been lost. This is written with the
