THE RETURN OF THE SUNDAY LUNCH CLUB

IT’S BACK afer a break of three years! One of the club’s favourite fundraising events – the bi-monthly Sunday Lunch Club – is up and running again.

Last Sunday, 51 club supporters sat down to a tasty two-course Sunday lunch (beef or chicken) cooked by the Evans family – Jackie, president Pip, and vice-chairman Francesca – costing just £10 a head (£5 for children) with delicious sweets made by Bet y Hitchcock who runs the Ladies Support Group with help from Fiona Blackmore and Maureen Reed.

Te afernoon raised a total of £410 for club funds which included £75 from a rafe organised by the Ladies.

Future Sunday lunches will be held on April 30, June 18, September 17 and a Christmas Turkey Special on December 10.

Beef and pork will be served at the April lunch with tickets almost sold out already. Te club’s catering manager, Emma Blackmore, will be taking charge at the next two Sunday events.

Tose who wish to atend but have not booked a place should contact Francesca.

A side beneft for the Sunday Lunch Club is that it boosts our takings with Patsy keeping the bar open all afernoon.

Whilst talking about catering, thanks to Emma’s expertise the afer-match refreshments for players and ofcials win a great deal of praise by the visiting teams and was described by a referee recently as “the best in the league”.

A full programme of fundraising events is being co-ordinated by Francesca (see page 10).
