Home of the Seasiders

IT’s been a long held tradition at Lyme Regis Football Club to have a happy hour with half-price drinks in the clubhouse when both our teams win. I’m disappointed to say that we have not been able to enjoy that privilege yet this season – and I’m afraid it won’t happen today either!

Our frst team have a free Saturday so the spotlight turns to the Reserves again with a home game against Bravehearts from Willand who sit just above us in the Devon and Exeter League Division One. So welcome to their players and ofcials.

Last week we revived the Sunday Lunch Club (see page 6), the frst one since this popular event was curtailed by the pandemic. Fify-one members and visitors sat down to a twocourse traditional Sunday lunch with meat kindly supplied by Lyme Bay Butchers.

Tere was a lovely atmosphere in the clubhouse and the lunch made a proft of £410 and we took £600 at the bar.

Te next Sunday lunch will be on April 30 so if you don’t want to miss out get your orders in quickly.

On page 7 of this programme you will see that the planning for our sixth Sausage & Cider Festival, taking place on July 18, has started already.

Tis is now one of the most popular early summer events in Lyme Regis but it takes a huge amount of efort. I would like to make a plea to all players and members to lend a hand when the time comes so we can ensure that that 2023 festival is as successful and proftable as last year’s event.
