Eine Wohngemeinschaft für Südtäler-Studenten aus dem Bergell, aus dem Puschlav, aus dem Münstertal und aus Samnaun. Ein dynamisches Schülerwohnheim – il Convict per Giuventüna Zuoz – ein genossenschaftlich geführter Begegnungsort für zahlreiche junge Menschen.

Die Demographie in den Südtälern und die Abwanderung der verbliebenen Tagesschüler in die urbaneren Regionen des Kantons haben dazu geführt, dass sich der Zweck der Genossenschaft einschneidend geändert hat. Aus dem lebhaften Schülerwohnheim wurde eine budgetfreundliche Garni-Unterkunft, welche fortan touristisch genutzt wurde.

Die touristische Nutzung entsprach jedoch nicht mehr dem Genossenschaftsgedanken. Aus diesem Grund wurde die Genossenschaft aufgelöst und das verbleibende Kapital in die neue «Fundaziun per Giuventüna Zuoz» zu Gunsten der Zuozer Jugend überführt. Somit ist das Gästehaus nun ein neuer Bestandteil des Lyceum Alpinum. Nur wenige Gehminuten vom Bahnhof entfernt liegt das Gästehaus Convict. Preisgünstige, einfache Zimmer inkl. Frühstück ergänzen nun als touristische, budgetfreundliche Nische das Angebot der renommierten internationalen Internatsschule. Freundlich und zweckmässig, fern von Hektik und Stress erholen sich die heutigen Convict-Gäste in Zuoz!

Die Übernahme des Gästehaus Convict hat auch eine Ergänzung des Hotellerie & Gastronomie Teams mit sich gebracht. Wir freuen uns die beiden guten Seelen des Convicts in unseren Reihen willkommen zu heissen.

Das Zusammenspiel von touristischer Nutzung und diversen Bedürfnissen der Schule ist eine neue Herausforderung. Mit viel Freude und Herzblut wird diese tagtäglich in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Lyceum Alpinum gemeistert.

A communal living space for students from the southern valleys of Bergell, Puschlav, Münstertal and Samnaun. A dynamic student residence – il Convict per Giuventüna Zuoz – a co-operatively run meeting place for numerous young people.

The demographics of the southern valleys and the migration of the remaining day students to the more urban regions of the canton led to a radical change in the purpose of the cooperative. The lively school dormitory became budgetfriendly accommodation, which from then on was used for tourism.

Using the Convict for tourist purposes no longer aligned with the idea of a cooperative. For this reason, the cooperative was dissolved and the proceeds were used for a new foundation for the benefit of the young people of Zuoz.

The business was taken over by Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz AG on November 1, 2019, meaning the Convict guesthouse is now a part of the Lyceum Alpinum. The Convict is located just a few minutes' walk from the train station. Inexpensive, simple rooms with breakfast for the budget-conscious tourist, are now a part of what our renowned international boarding school has to offer. Friendly yet functional, far away from the hustle and bustle, Convict guests can now relax in Zuoz!

The acquisition of the guesthouse Convict has also enriched our hotel and catering team. We are happy to welcome the two good souls of the Convict to our team.

Managing the use of the guesthouse for tourist purposes, and at the same time the various needs of our parent company is a new challenge. Working in collaboration with the Lyceum Alpinum, it is a challenge we overcome every day with joy and passion.

Unser Sonnenschein im Service Team... Wanda ergänzt unsere Servicecrew seit Oktober 2019. Andrea Wanda Paiva Cardoso stammt ursprünglich aus Portugal, lebt nun jedoch schon lange in Samedan. Wir freuen uns eine Frohnatur wie Wanda zu unserem Team zählen zu dürfen. Our sunshine in the service team...Wanda has been part of our service crew since October 2019. Andrea Wanda Paiva Cardoso is originally from Portugal, but has been living in Samedan for a long time now. We are happy to have such a cheerful person as Wanda in our team.

BARBARA OLIVEIRA (KÜCHE)

Ruhig, freundlich und hilfsbereit waltet die fleissige, wissbegierige Barbara in der Küche. Stets zur Stelle und immer guter Laune ergänzt Barbara unsere Küchenbrigade seit 1.11.2019. Barbara ist eine Bereicherung für unser Team. Barbara Filipa Oliveira Fernandes ist im Engadin aufgewachsen und komplettiert das fast schon 100% romanische Küchenteam. Calm, friendly, and helpful, Barbara is eager to learn and works hard in the kitchen. Always on hand and well-disposed, Barbara has been a fine addition to our kitchen crew since 1.11.2019. Barbara Filipa Oliveira Fernandes grew up in the Engadine and completes the almost fully Romansh-speaking kitchen team.

NICOLE FABIAN (LEITERIN SERVICE)

«Was lange währt, wird endlich gut».... so erging es uns auf der Suche nach einer Chef de Service.

Seit dem 1.12.2019 haben wir mit Nicole Fabian eine Gastgeberin, ein Organisationstalent und eine tolle Ergänzung unsers Serviceteams. Gäste- sprich Schülerorientiert schaltet und waltet Nicole täglich mit stets offenem Ohr für die Anliegen der Schülerschaft und der Mitarbeitenden. Zielorientiert, qualitätsbewusst, effizient und immer freundlich haben wir Nicole kennen und schätzen gelernt.

"Good things are worth waiting for".... that was certainly the case in our search for a Chef de Service.

Since 1.12.2019 we have had a host, an organisational talent and a great addition to our service team in Nicole Fabian. Guest, that is, student oriented, Nicole is always open to the concerns of students and staff. We have come to know and appreciate Nicole as goal-oriented, quality-conscious, efficient and always

friendly.
