Im Jahre 2017 gründete Old-Boy Andrea Stöhr zusammen mit einem Kumpel, Unternehmer Tobias Reichmuth, die CfC St. Moritz (Crypto Finance Conference). Neben Tobias und Andrea, welcher als Anwalt die rechtliche Abklärungen für die Konferenz vornimmt, sitzen im Verwaltungsrat der CfC St. Moritz erfahrene Investoren wie Daniel Gutenberg, Marc P. Bernegger oder Schoscho Rufener. Die operative Gesamtführung der Konferenz liegt dabei in der Verantwortung von Old-Boy Nicolo Stöhr, dem Bruder von Andrea. «Niemals hätte ich gedacht, dass ich eines Tages zusammen mit meinem Bruder im selben Unternehmen tätig sein werde – aber es funktioniert sehr gut und ich schätze die Zusammenarbeit» so Nicolo Stöhr. Sämtliche Brüder, der jüngste Armando eingeschlossen, haben von den Eltern, welche jahrelang in Madulain das Stüva Colani geführt haben, von der Pike auf gelernt, was es heisst, selbständig und unternehmerisch unterwegs zu sein. Daher verwundert es nicht, dass alle drei den Weg der Selbständigkeit eingeschlagen haben.

Als das Thema Bitcoin aufgrund des rasanten Preisanstiegs im Jahre 2017 in der breiten Bevölkerung wahrgenommen wurde, entstanden weltweit verschiedene Konferenzen zu diesem Thema. « Dabei gab es eine Vielzahl von Konferenzen für Start-ups, In 2017, old-boy Andrea Stöhr along with his pal, entrepreneur Tobias Reichmuth, founded the CfC St. Moritz (Crypto Finance Conference). In addition to Tobias and Andrea, who as a lawyer is responsible for the legal clarifications for the conference, the Board of Directors of CfC St. Moritz includes experienced investors such as Daniel Gutenberg, Marc P. Bernegger and Schoscho Rufener. The overall operational management of the conference is the responsibility of old-boy Nicolo Stöhr, Andrea's brother: «I never thought I would one day be working in the same company as my brother – but it works very well and I value our cooperation», says Nicolo Stöhr. All the brothers, including the youngest Armando, were taught from the ground up by their parents, who for years ran the Stüva Colani in Madulain, what it means to be independent and entrepreneurial. It is therefore not surprising that all three have forged an independent path.

When the subject of Bitcoin became known to the public, amid the rapid rise in prices in 2017, various conferences on the subject were held around the world. «There were a large number of conferences for start-ups, programmers, regulators and for other areas – but there was no conference exclusively to

Wir wollen privaten und institutionellen Investoren aus der traditionellen und neuen Welt, Family Offices und Fonds die Möglichkeit bieten, sich bei uns über die aktuellsten und relevantesten Themen in der Industry zu informieren, sich zu vernetzen und die Tage in St. Moritz zu geniessen» erklärt Nicolo Stöhr. «Dabei geht es nicht darum, Projekten oder Unternehmen die Möglichkeit zu bieten, vor Investoren zu «pitchen» um an Investitionen zu gelangen. Unsere Konferenz ist eine «Content-only» Veranstaltung – es werden nur Inhalte präsentiert und diskutiert, welche dazu dienen, den Investoren eine möglichst umfassende Sicht der Themen zu geben, welche momentan im Ökosystem aktuell sind und worauf sie ihre Investitionsentscheidungen basieren können. Zudem können sie sich direkt vor Ort mit den IndustrieExperten unterhalten und so ein einzigartiges Netzwerk aufbauen.» In der Vergangenheit nahmen dabei Experten sowohl aus der traditionellen (Finanz-) Welt, wie beispielsweise Bundesrat Schneider-Ammann oder Cassis, Hester Pierce vom Security Exchange Commission, Thomas Moser von der Schweizerischen Nationalbank oder Tim Draper von Draper Associates, sowie von der neuen Crypto-Welt, wie beispielsweise die Gebrüder Tyler und Cameron Winklevoss, Meltem Demirors, Dan Morehead oder Wences Casares, an der Konferenz teil. «Für uns ist es wichtig, dass wir sämtliche relevanten Player aus dem Ökosystem bei uns haben, uns differenziert mit den verschiedenen Themen und Entwicklungen auseinandersetzen und auch kritisch hinterfragen um den Investoren ein möglichst genaues Abbild der aktuellen Lage der Industrie zu geben.» Darauf angesprochen, welche Themen an der Konferenz im Januar 2021 im Zentrum stehen werden, antwortet Nicolo Stöhr folgendes: «Das Projekt «Libra»hat Regierungen und insbesondere Nationalbanken dazu veranlasst, das Thema im Detail zu betrachten (Sprichwort « Central Bank Digital Currencies» (CBDC)). Dies wird, neben Vorträgen zum Thema Regulierung, einer der Schwerpunkte sein. Zudem werden wir die Themen « Decentralization for finance» (DeFi) sowie die Tokenisierung von Vermögenswerten näher betrachten».

Bevor das Gespräch endet, ist es für beide Brüder wichtig zu betonen, dass ein wichtiger Erfolgsfaktor der Konferenz die Verankerung im Engadin und die Zusammenarbeit mit Institutionen vor Ort ist. Dabei nimmt das Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz eine wichtige Rolle ein. « Schüler des LAZ unterstützen uns während den KonferenzTagen aktiv und können an den Vorträgen und Diskussionen teilnehmen. Somit wollen wir diesen die Möglichkeit bieten, sich bereits früh mit der Thematik auseinanderzusetzen und ihnen das Thema zugänglich zu machen.»

In the past, experts from the traditional world of finance, such as Federal Councillors Schneider-Ammann or Cassis, Hester Pierce from the Security Exchange Commission, Thomas Moser from the Swiss National Bank or Tim Draper from Draper Associates, as well as from the new world of cryptofinance, such as the brothers Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, Meltem Demirors, Dan Morehead or Wences Casares participated the conference. «It is important for us to have all relevant players in the ecosystem with us, to address the different topics and developments in a differentiated and critical manner, in order to give investors as accurate a picture as possible of the current situation in the industry. Asked which topics would be the focus of the conference in January 2021, Nicolo Stöhr answers: «The «Libra» project has prompted both governments and in particular national banks to look at the topic in detail («Central Bank Digital Currencies» (CBDC)). This will be one of the focal points, along with talks on the topic of regulation. We will also be taking a closer look at the topics of «Decentralization for finance» (DeFi) and asset tokenization».

Before the discussion ends, it is important for both brothers to emphasize that an important factor in the success of the conference is its anchoring in the Engadine and the cooperation with local institutions.
