Luxega FN’s 17 World Goals
In the lighting industry, recent years have seen an increased focus on climate change and the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — and Luxega is no exception. At Luxega, we are fully aware of our social responsibility and are committed to contributing to a more sustainable and responsible world. We strive to integrate the UN’s SDGs into our daily operations and production processes as much as possible.
The UN’s SDGs were introduced in 2016 with the aim of fostering a more sustainable and humane development for both the planet and its people. We believe that everyone can contribute to achieving these goals by 2030. No one can accomplish everything alone, but we firmly believe that by each doing our part, we can make a significant difference in creating a greener, healthier, and more humane future.
To focus our efforts on the UN’s SDGs, Luxega has selected four specific goals as our primary focus areas:

We aim to foster sustainable industrialization and encourage innovation by integrating advanced AI technology into our lighting solutions, promoting energy efficiency and smart infrastructure.

LED lighting has revolutionized street and outdoor lighting, offering unmatched energy efficiency, durability, and performance. Luxega takes these benefits to the next level with our advanced LED retrofit solutions, providing municipalities and contractors with an innovative way to upgrade their lighting infrastructure sustainably and affordably.
Exceptional Energy Efficiency
Luxega’s LED inserts deliver system energy efficiency of 100 lm/W to 170 lm/W, ensuring significant energy savings compared to traditional lighting or even new LED fixtures. By reducing energy consumption, municipalities can drastically lower operational costs while contributing to climate goals.
Extended Lifetime and Durability
With the use of AI-driven thermal analysis, Luxega ensures optimal heat dissipation, which significantly extends the lifetime of our LED inserts. This reduces maintenance requirements and replacement costs, providing long-term reliability that exceeds many new LED streetlights.

Our retrofit solutions allow the reuse of existing streetlight housings, conserving resources and minimizing waste. This circular approach reduces environmental impact while delivering the same or even better performance as new LED luminaires.

Our sustainable solution
We work with AI-developed street lighting that creates a sustainable future with positive ROI shortly.
Switching to our LED retrofit solution for street lighting instead of replacing the entire luminaire offers significant CO₂ savings. A standard street light luminaire with a 5 kg aluminum housing generates 80.5 kg of CO₂ emissions on a global average or 34 kg using the European average. Adding the impact of the ballast and metal halide lamp (112W), estimated at 20 kg CO₂, and installation time, which emits approximately 1.8 kg CO₂ for 30 minutes of labor, the total CO₂ footprint of a new luminaire reaches 102.3 kg globally or 55.8 kg in Europe.
In comparison, our LED retrofit solution has an estimated CO₂ footprint of around 10.9 kg per unit, including production and installation (which only requires around 15 minutes, emitting 0.9 kg CO₂). This means a CO₂ saving of 91.4 kg globally or 44.9 kg in Europe per luminaire replaced with our sustainable retrofit solution.
This approach not only reduces CO₂ emissions but also minimizes waste by reusing the existing housing and cutting installation time in half. Choosing our retrofit solution is a clear step towards more sustainable street lighting, aligning with modern environmental goals while delivering efficient, cost-effective performance.
Our AI model is designed to clone and refurbish existing luminaires, creating 100% perfectly fitted LED inserts. This process minimizes waste and accelerates the upgrade process while maintaining urban design integrity.
Transparent Operations
We ensure full compliance with safety and environmental regulations by providing EC declarations of conformity for all upgrades. Independent laboratory testing of our products guarantees transparency and trust.

At Luxega, we produce only what our customers order. This approach ensures that we never have surplus products sitting in storage, waiting to be sold, and helps us maintain a sustainable and efficient production process.
We are committed to manufacturing high-quality products designed to last for many years. By focusing on durability, we reduce the need for additional production, minimize waste, and contribute to a more sustainable future. Luxega is also a proud member of the Danish Producer Responsibility initiative, underscoring our dedication to responsible and sustainable production practices.
Since early 2023, 85% of the aluminum used in our LED inserts has been sourced from recycled materials, thanks to our partnership with a supplier who recycles waste from various industries. This commitment significantly reduces our carbon footprint while delivering ecofriendly lighting solutions.
Additionally, our production processes are driven by energy efficiency. With the use of modern, energy-saving machinery and automated systems, we have significantly lowered electricity consumption compared to previous years. Our AI model further streamlines the supply chain, saving thousands of hours and minimizing environmental impact. At Luxega, we integrate innovation and responsibility to deliver sustainable lighting solutions without compromising on quality.
Packaging Luxega’s Packaging Policy
At Luxega, sustainability is a priority in every aspect of our operations - including packaging. We reuse all our packaging materials to minimize waste and reduce our environmental footprint. By reusing old cardboard boxes for new shipments and sorting and saving packing fillers for future use, we actively contribute to lowering CO2 emissions, reducing air pollution, and limiting harm to the environment.
We believe that every small step matters, and reusing packaging materials is our way of taking responsibility for a greener future. This commitment helps minimize waste production and ensures that we are doing our best to protect the planet.
By prioritizing reuse and recycling in our packaging, Luxega demonstrates that innovation and responsibility go hand in hand in creating a sustainable future.
In addition, Luxega is a proud member of Dansk Producent Ansvar (DPA), an organization that enforces producer responsibility in Denmark. As a European lighting manufacturer, being part of DPA aligns us with policies that prioritize sustainable production, proper waste management, and recycling. Membership in DPA underscores our dedication to meeting European environmental standards and promoting sustainable practices throughout the lighting industry.
Social Responsibility
At Luxega, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone is treated with respect and equality. We never discriminate based on age, gender, nationality, religion, or ethnicity. Instead, we focus on hiring employees based on their skills, expertise, and qualifications. This approach ensures that our workforce reflects the richness of diverse communities and perspectives.
Our team at Luxega proudly represents a variety of ethnicities, ages, and nationalities. We firmly stand against any form of discrimination within our company. In the lighting industry and other technical fields, women are often underrepresented—a challenge we are actively addressing. Currently, 30% of our workforce comprises women, while 70% are men. This ratio spans across our production, sales, and design teams. We recognize the need for greater gender equality and are dedicated to improving these numbers to create a more balanced and inclusive work environment.
Luxega also upholds stringent ethical standards across our supply chain. Child labor is strictly prohibited in any form, and this principle is embedded in all contracts with our subcontractors. To ensure compliance, we conduct unannounced audits every quarter, holding our partners accountable for maintaining ethical practices.
