Chris Rowe, Director of Female Football, crafted an ambitious strategy for girl’s and women’s football in the region. From a standing start of one team a couple of years ago, we now have close on 150 participating at all levels of the game. Our new Female Framework also establishes clear pathways from under-7s through to Women’s football in both social and competitive teams.
I am delighted to confirm East Surrey College as Education partners for our new Redhill FC Academy programme for 2025/26. Players can enjoy college life whilst studying full time for their Level 2 or 3 Sports qualifications. The Programme also provides for daily coaching/ training hours with the Club’s coaching specialists and playing for Redhill FC Academy teams in local academy leagues. Elite players will have the opportunity to a progress through to the First Team squad where appropriate. Supporting our local community is very important to us so we’re dedicating more time and resources to creating positive outcomes where possible. Club coaches volunteer their

time to provide free football sessions in several local schools, both during school hours and after-school. Other volunteers support the operation of the LoveWorks food bank at the club on Thursday mornings, or facilitate charity matches at Kiln Brow during the season. Club officials also run free Saturday morning sessions on the Cromwell and Whitebushes estates for boys and girls not yet engaged in competitive football.
Volunteers are the life blood of the Club and we are hugely indebted to one and all for the
selfless support they provide week in, week out…year in, year out. As the club expands, so too does its volunteer force and network. Maybe you know someone who would love to come on board and make a difference with us?
AS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT COMMUNITY-OWNED CLUB, REDHILL FC RE-INVESTS ITS OWN SURPLUSES, AND OTHER FUNDING AVAILABLE TO IT, IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF FOOTBALL ACROSS THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. WE ALSO COLLABORATE WITH OTHERS TO ENABLE POSITIVE OUTCOMES WHERE SECTIONS OF OUR COMMUNITY ARE IN NEED OR CAN BENEFIT FROM OUR SUPPORT.
In November 2023, we established a weekly Food Bank in partnership with Loveworks. This helps local people to access essential provisions every Thursday morning from our clubhouse. Club members regularly contribute food and other items via the Donations Box in the clubhouse.
In 2022, we launched a community football initiative aimed at engaging 9-14 year old boys and girls from the Cromwell Estate and Timpany Gardens, Redhill in regular free football sessions. The following year we extended it to include Whitebushes Estate and the programme now runs from April to November each year. Every Saturday morning, children from dispitrate backgrounds and abilities have fun learning how to improve their skills, fitness, and teamworking. Off the pitch, families engage more socially and support trips to friendlies or to watch Redhill First Team play at Kiln Brow.
This initiate continues to be successful due in no small part to our collaboration with the Community Develpoment Team at Reigate & Banstead BC, Growing Health Together, Raven Housing Trust, BurtonBuild and others.
Working with young people in the community is at the heart of everything we do and we have supported a number of pupils through their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
This year, we launched a Placement Programme for students of East Surrey College to gain work experience at the club across a number of roles. This collaboration currently has 30 placements, all of whom are making a real difference to club and community whilst gaining valuable job and life experience.
We have also built partnerships with a number of local schools. These partnerships have been forged by a number of our coaches who consistently volunteer their time to coach girls in schools at all age groups. The schools we work with are growing every season and we received the Volunteer of the Year Award from Reigate & Banstead Sports Awards in 2024, as recognition for the work we are doing.
REDHILL FOOTBALL CLUB - NOW A FULL MEMBER OF THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION AND A MEMBER OF THE SURREY COUNTY FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION AND THE COMBINED COUNTIES LEAGUE - WAS FORMED IN 1894.
So in this year, 2024, we are delighted to be able to celebrate our 130th anniversary. This is a tremendous achievement and we are indebted to all those countless players, coaches, officials and supporters who have played their part and
contributed to the health of our Club over so many years.
Mainly through the efforts of a Mr JP Asher, surely our “Founding Father”, a meeting was called at the Warwick Hotel to consider forming a senior football club to represent Redhill. This project immediately found favour with the sportsmen in the district and at a further meeting on 5th November 1894 it was unanimously decided to start the Club without delay.
A major factor in the development of the town had been the coming of the railways. The convenience of Redhill’s access, its reputed healthiness and the charm of its scenery drew to it numerous men of business who preferred to live in some luxury a short distance from the capital. At the time it was said that many a public figure was only too happy to get involved with the Football Club. Why wouldn’t they want a successful team to boost the name of the town?

Redhill Football Club - now a Full Member and a Member of the Surrey County Football Association and the Combined Counties League - was formed in 1894. So in this year, 2024, we are delighted to be able to celebrate our 130th anniversary. and the business generated was extensive to say the least. With the football ground so ideally placed, it sounded like a clap of thunder in the town when a goal was scored”. Redhill went on to win many more trophies, particularly in the ‘60s and ‘70s when they lifted the Surrey Senior Cup and the Athenian League Cup (twice). They reached the First Round Proper of The FA Cup in 1957, being drawn away to Norwich City, and were Athenian League champions in that league’s last-ever
season in 1984. The Club knew that a ring road was to be constructed at the south end of the Sports Ground. This would necessitate utilising a section of the ground, thereby making it unsuitable for football. The Club was made an offer by the Local Council of an alternative site south of the town called “Kiln Brow”. So in 1984 the Reds had to leave their home of 87 years. It was the ground where Arsenal had played, Spurs had played, Crystal Palace had played, Bobby Moore had played, George Best had
played and even King George VI had watched sporting events during the war. Since then Redhill have played in more modest leagues. Now this isn’t just a club that is pushing for promotion to the prestigious Isthmian League at Step 4 but one that is also properly engaging with and serving the local community.
Since his appointment as First Team Manager in February 2023, Jordan Clark has gone about building a squad capable of challenging for promotion. Having narrowly missed out on a play-off place in 2023/24, Jordan strengthened his squad and management team such that the Lobsters have rarely been out of the top 3 in the Combined Counties Football League - Premier Division South this season.
“We have worked hard to create our own unique culture and look for players who fit that culture
first and foremost. Our commitment, work rate, and togetherness is plain to see and our performances this season have given players and fans some memorable experiences”.
Jordan’s approach sits comfortably with the club’s philosophies and he works with managers and coaches from across the club to share knowledge and experience. With young Academy, U18 and U23 players joining Jordan’s squad sessions and making first team appearances this season, a pathway

Mid-week football provides a valuable stepping stone for post-16 players and, to this end, we run teams at under-18 and under-23 with a pathway through to First Team football.
Both teams compete in League, League Cup, Surrrey County Cup competitions, with the 18s playing in the early rounds of the FA Youth Cup also.
Managers Barry Mountain and Jay Brewer are committed to developing the individual as well as the team. Under 18s have opportunities to gain experience with the 23s, while Jordan Clarke also provides talented young players with opportunities within his First Team squad.
Our new post-16 Academy collaboration with East Surrey College is a fantastic development which provides U-16s with structured programme of development and a stepping stone into men’s football.
The Summer Tournament is proving ever popular each year and this May is expected to attract over 90 teams. From Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon, Kiln Brow Stadium is super busy as many of our boys, girls, and mixed teams go head-to-head in 6-a-side contests. Its a great showcase for our teams and for the club…and is certainly a busy week for our volunteers!

We have seen an explosion in interest in girls and womens football and we’re delighted to see so many join competitive and social teams at Redhill Football Club.
Director of Female Football, Chris Rowe, launched a number of new engaging initiatives with schools, leagues and clubs in the past couple of years.
“We currently stand at 140 girls playing in 13 teams this year and are planning for 20 teams to start the new season in September 2025. We are developing clear pathways for girls from Little Lobsters (2-5 yrs) through to Womens’ competitive leagues.
There’s a big focus too on the social side of the game with most girls taking part in fun team and club events across the season”.
Coaching takes place on 3G pitches at
Carrington School, Redhill and Kiln Brow Stadium on weeknights, with matchdays on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
Our newly-established Redhill FC Women provides opportunities to play either competitive 11-a-side First Team football or recreational 7-a-side or 9-a-side football. Training takes place at Carrington School, Redhill on Monday and Thursday evenings with the recreational team currently playing in the Surrey FA Flexi League on Sundays.
Trials will be taking place throughout the summer in preparation for the 2025/26 season.
Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, we offer a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment for everyone who loves the game. If you’re looking for a friendly and welcoming club to join, get in touch—we’d love to have you!
