BASILDON TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB HAS BEEN A PILLAR OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY EVER SINCE ITS CREATION
the general community by promoting healthy and social activity. Our Social Media side is growing each year with over 3,000 followers on twitter and nearly 1,000 followers on Facebook. We are looking to increase our Social Media output over the next season to get more interaction with the football community as well as the local community.
The club continues to grow and now has three adult teams playing across steps 6-8 of the football pyramid and 11 youth sides, including a girls U10’s team. We hope to add to this over the coming years.
We are primarily based at the Basildon Sport and Leisure Club on Gardiners Way with our adult Reserve and A Team and some youth teams playing there, the remainder of which, play at The Basildon Post Office Club. Our adult first team are based at Basildon United’s, The Hive, as part of a ground share.
We pride ourselves on being a community club with strong links to local businesses, organisations, schools, and social media. We firmly believe in the benefits football offers our players, supporters, and
Basildon Town FC is a non-profit making organisation with all adult’s players and parents of Youth teams paying match fees toward the substantial costs of running the club. This includes FA affiliation fees, pitch fees, Referee/officials fees, match and training balls, training equipment, first aid equipment, and training ground fees. Additional funding and sponsorship ensure we can continue to develop all aspects of the club.

HISTORY
FOUNDED IN 1946, BASILDON TOWN
FC IS THE OLDEST FOOTBALL CLUB IN THE TOWN.
In recent years the first team have risen from Division two in the Essex Olympian League to the Premier Division, along the way, there has been a League and Cup double and several top two finishes. In season 2021-22, we secured promotion to the Eastern Counties Thurlow Nunn Division 1 South narrowly missing out on promotion in the 2022-23 season to the Essex Senior League. Last season saw a change in personnel but a great push toward the end saw us finish in the top half of the table. We now have an excellent management team in place and a strong squad whom we hope will see us push on this season.
IN SEASON 2021-22, WE SECURED PROMOTION TO THE EASTERN COUNTIES THURLOW NUNN DIVISION 1 SOUTH
Our reserve side were crowned champions of the Essex Olympian League Division 3 in 2022-23, gained promotion from Division 2 in 2023/24 and are currently playing in Division 1.
Basildon Town A Team was promoted from the Southend Borough League in 2021-22 into Division four of the Essex Olympian League, a second-place finish saw them promoted to the Division 3 where they are currently plying their trade.
Our Youth teams all had an excellent 2023/24 season and will be looking to push on this season.

FIRST TEAM
THE FIRST TEAM CURRENTLY COMPETE IN THE THURLOW NUNN LEAGUE, 1ST DIVISION SOUTH, WHICH PITS THEM AGAINST TEAMS ACROSS ESSEX AND EAST LONDON.
Having achieved promotion at the end of season 2022/23, they narrowly missed promotion by 1 point in 2023/24. Our first team manager, Alec Simm is ably assisted by Andy Everett, Ryan Smith, Scott Harding and Matt Knight.

RESERVES
OUR RESERVE SIDE HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL IN RECENT YEARS AND CURRENTLY COMPETE IN THE ESSEX OLYMPIAN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE. IN SEASON 2022/23 THEY WON PROMOTION FROM DIVISION 3 AND WERE CROWNED CHAMPIONS OF DIVISION 2 THE FOLLOWING SEASON. The Reserves are currently managed by Robbie Clarricoats and Ash Fuente.

OUR A TEAM COMPETE IN THE ESSEX OLYMPIAN LEAGUE DIVISION 3 AND ARE MANAGED THIS SEASON BY JOHN REDDING AND JIMMY BARTLETT, WHO ALSO MANAGE OUR U18’S ON A SUNDAY.
It is hoped the A team can be a natural progression for those Under 18’s and several players have already featured this season.

OUR U18’S TEAM HAVE ALSO BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL IN RECENT YEARS, WINNING THE U16’S SOUTHEND JUNIOR LEAGUE CUP FINAL IN SEASON 2022/23 AND THE U17’S LEAGUE CUP FINAL IN 2023/24.
This season they are competing in the U18’s Premier Division of the Brentwood Community Football Alliance Youth League. John Redding and Assistant Jimmy Bartlett are still in charge and have been since the boys were at U9’s level.

We have created a partnership with a local company, Corey Coaching, and they have helped us create a fantastic Youth set up.
Corey coaching was founded in March 2023 and has grown in stature over the last 18 months. Running a variety of sessions, including, 1-2-1’s, football development sessions, football schools, mini dribbler sessions and more. WE ARE A FAMILY ORIENTATED CLUB IN THE HEART OF BASILDON, ON A HIDDEN GEM OF 8 ACRES WITH GOOD LINKS TO THE A127. AS A REGISTERED CHARITY WE WORK WITH LOCAL GROUPS TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY.
We have 3 separate rooms for hire and can cater for all events from a business meeting to a large wedding. On our site we have 3 full size football pitches so we can accommodate large team-building events or kids fun days and everything in between.
BE A MASCOT
OUR YOUNGER SUPPORTERS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE MASCOTS AT ALL OF OUR 2024/25 HOME GAMES.
This includes entry to the ground with a paying adult, meeting the management team and players with a tour of the ground prior to the game, walk out with the players at the start of the game, a training session and penalty shoot out on the pitch at half time, with the added bonus of being able to watch the match in its entirety.

ANDY CUMMING TOOK OVER AS CHAIRMAN IN JUNE 2024, TAKING OVER FROM BOB MOORCRAFT, WHO HAD HELD THE POST FOR 10 YEARS. ANDY HAS A GREAT TEAM AROUND HIM AND TOGETHER THEY ENSURE THE CLUB REMAINS STABLE AND ON AN EVEN KEEL.
