History & T radition
Founded in 1926, Hope Valley Country Club continues to combine a time-honored tradition of excellence in service with warm, welcoming, and functional accommodations for its members and their families. The views that grace our classic Tudor-designed exterior remain almost exactly as they appeared when the club first opened its doors in 1926. While we hold our longstanding history close, we always stay ready to move into the future. Over time, much has changed since our beginning: our grounds and facilities have been thoughtfully groomed, updated, renovated, re-decorated, and dramatically improved, but our core values remain the same.
Upscale and casual dining, swimming, tennis, and a classic Donald Ross Championship 18-Hole Golf Course are primed and at the ready for our family of members; many of whom consider Hope Valley Country Club their home away from home. With that in mind, our devoted and professional staff, with member committees alongside, are continually innovating and improving, seeking to deliver the very best country club experience possible.

Golf enthusiasts know our golf course as one of Donald Ross’ “hidden gems”...our members know it as the crown jewel of Hope Valley. Our 18-hole, Championship Golf Course has played host to a number of important golf events, including the 1945 Durham Open, won by the legendary Byron Nelson while on his victory streak of eleven straight wins.
Over the years, the course has been renovated, manicured, detailed, and landscaped--all with careful consideration of Mr. Ross’ 1926 vision.
Our full members enjoy a near-full calendar year of golf events: tournaments, match play events, and shotguns, from the beginning of April through the end of October. While the men enjoy seasonal tournaments--such as member-member, member-guest, and a weekly men’s league, to name a few--the ladies compete in weekly playday events, “Chix with Stix,” and traditional country club favorites. Our “9 and Dine” couples’ dinners encourage our members to invite a new guest or some old HVCC friends to enjoy an evening of friendly competition, cocktails, food, and fun.
Work on your game any time on our driving range, or look for advice from one of our PGA golf professionals during a private or semi-private lesson. Our instructional programs can be tailored for golfers of all ages and skill levels.

For those who would rather relax than swim laps, plenty of deck chairs and umbrellas surround our new, six-lane, competition Lap Pool with diving tank. Wade into the new Zero-Entry Pool or cool off in the fourteen splash fountains, perfect for the little ones (and the young-at-heart.) Our three roofed cabanas offer plenty of full-shade respite, with cafe seating to enjoy sandwiches, salads, snacks, smoothies, and more from the snack bar. Just steps from the pool deck, and overlooking the golfers below, an outdoor fire pit lounge welcomes members to enjoy a nightcap with friends around a crackling fire.
YOUNG SWIMMERS can take advantage of swimming lessons, seasonal pool parties, and family socials, as well as our kid-friendly snack bar. All able swimmers are invited to join our Hope Valley Hurricanes Swim Team as a part of their summertime fun.

DOVER ROOM & DOVER BAR
Our recentlyupdated, formal Dover Dining Room serves a chef-selected, seasonal menu with sweeping views of the stunning 18 th green. For a more casual atmosphere, meet friends for a drink or dinner at the adjacent Dover Bar.
DONALD ROSS GRILLE
A popular mid-day and post-18 th stop, the Donald Ross Grill--with its large screen TVs and oversized windows--is a great option to grab a quick bite and watch the big game. A large and varied buffet, a Grille menu, a quick-service window, and a full-service bar are always available for lunch.
TERRACE When the weather permits, covered outdoor dining awaits on the newly-renovated Terrace, with spectacular panoramic views, open-air seating, and a full, seasonal menu.
VALLEY ROOM
Our informal dining room offers dinner service Tuesday through Saturday. “Prime Rib Saturday,” “Breakfast for Dinner,” and “Family Bingo Night” are just a few of the most popular dining events offered in the Valley Room. On Friday nights, parents can wrap up their meal in peace and quiet as the kids take advantage of our complimentary babysitting in the Renaissance Room.
TENNIS

Hope Valley Country Club offers a broad spectrum tennis program, catering to all ages, beginners and seasoned players alike. Our nine lighted courts, available year-round for member reservation (weather permitting) , include seven soft (Har-Tru) courts and two hard courts. A new 60-foot junior court (within the 78-foot adult court) is perfect for our littlest players. Our members enjoy USTA league play, evening and holiday socials, club tournaments, a variety of group drop-in clinics, as well as semi-private and one-on-one instruction.
THE JUNIORS TENNIS PROGRAM at Hope Valley is designed to serve our younger players with a schedule that suits busy families. Clinics are offered every week after school, with group levels tailored to age and ability. The drop-in morning Summer Kids Clinics fill up quickly!

Hope Valley Country Club is renowned for its unparalleled and meticulous orchestration of both grand occasions and intimate gatherings. There’s a good balance
of family fun, athletics, and grown-up events here...it’s not tailored to any one kind of person or family, really. It’s just as fun to take the kids to Bingo Night as it is to do a 9 & Dine with friends. Hope Valley manages to make everyone in our family happy ...and that’s saying something!”

Full/Junior* Membership – Full Members have unlimited access to all of the amenities at Hope Valley Country Club: Donald Ross Golf Course and practice facilities, nine tennis courts, two outdoor pools, five dining rooms, and a year-round calendar of social events. Full Members can participate in all golf and tennis events that are offered, including Men’s and Ladies Golf Associations, and USTA Tennis Leagues.
Tennis Membership – Tennis Members have unlimited access to our nine tennis courts, two outdoor pools, five dining rooms and a year-round calendar of social events. Tennis Members can also participate in USTA Leagues, evening and holiday socials, club tournaments, clinics, lessons and more.
