Architecture Portfolio

I am an incoming third-year architecture student with a love for designing captivating spaces. Having moved around my whole life from Egypt to various parts of Europe, Asia, and the USA, my experiences have shaped my passion for architecture. Drawing inspiration from my Egyptian roots and life journey, I aim to create spaces that bring comfort to others. With each project, I strive to weave cultural richness and individual narratives into harmonious designs. I am committed to sustainable and inclusive practices, and I look forward to collaborating with like-minded individuals to make a positive impact through thoughtful architecture.

RiordanThe Over the Rhine neighborhood in Cincinnati is currently facing a need for a public bathroom, especially in close proximity to Findlay Market. The project’s objective entailed incorporating an ADA-approved bathroom stall, a public shower, and water fountains. My design concept centered around the juxtaposition of light and airy elements. Upon entering the stall, occupants are greeted with ample headroom and a well-illuminated environment. However, from an external perspective, the structure adopts a dense grid pattern, effectively providing privacy and seclusion for those utilizing the facilities from the outside world.

RiordanI designed a community center in the vibrant neighborhood of Over the Rhine, Cincinnati, which accommodates various amenities such as office spaces, a performance center, a café, and a library. Overcoming the challenge of limited natural light due to its placement between two existing buildings, my solution incorporated a stepping pattern design with skylights on each floor. This thoughtful arrangement ensures ample sunlight permeates the entire center, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Furthermore, the glass rear facade creates a visual plunging effect, strengthening the integration between the interior and the surrounding urban landscape

Our task was to design a performance pavilion for Burnet Woods park. The program required a performance stage, accessible access, seating for one to ten people, and side viewing pavilions. My objective was to create a space that embraced shadows while offering protection from the elements. To achieve this, I incorporated sliding glass panels in the roof, allowing flexibility to control sunlight and adapt to Cincinnati’s unpredictable weather. Additionally, paneling along the stage wall was added to enhance sound amplification, ensuring optimal acoustics for performances.

As part of this project, I was tasked with designing a rooftop pavilion to be located on the existing green roof of UC DAAP’s 7th floor. The program requirements included seating for a minimum of 10 people, circulation pathways, and viewpoints. My design approach focused on creating an immersive experience for users, ensuring they interact with all the programmatic elements. To achieve this, I devised a labyrinthine pavilion layout that guides people through the space. Additionally, I incorporated a linear roof design, enabling varied shadow patterns throughout the day, enhancing the overall ambience and visual interest of the pavilion.

As a self-taught photographer, I have developed a strong passion for capturing moments in family pictures, senior pictures, parties, and architecture. What was once a hobby has now transformed into a thriving business that I corun with a fellow classmate. We bring our unique perspectives and expertise to deliver high-quality photography services to our clients, ensuring that their special occasions and architectural projects are beautifully documented.
Amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rising significance of the Black Lives Matter movement, I embarked on starting my own business. Inspired by my growing interest in hand embroidery, I self-taught this intricate craft. Gradually, my business took shape, and I began embroidering university logos, BLM shirts, Arabic name shirts, baby clothes, and an array of other items. What set my business apart was the commitment to giving back to the community. I donated the profits generated to various organizations in need of support. This allowed me to contribute to causes close to my heart and make a positive impact while pursuing my passion for embroidery.
