ASSIGNMENT 2

FORUM 1 : ACT

Should we further tighten the laws and make the registration of a design firm more stringent?

In my opinion, I think it is important to ensure that interior designers are qualified, skilled and professional. This is because looking for unqualified designers may end up causing unnecessary is things to happen But if the regulations are too strict it may discourage talented people with natural skills and creativity from joining the field because it will create too many barriers and hinder them from pursuing their passion for interior design. I think maybe MIID or LAM could offer some sort of affordable courses or seminars for designers to learn to get a diploma in design or something like that.

Also I often see design freelancers posting on social media offering low prices to attract clients. The low prices may seem attractive to clients, but it's important to note that these freelancers may not have the qualifications or experience needed to run a successful project Unregistered interior designers may carry out some designs and renovations without regard to safety, even without any legal application. With some of these renovations, they will provide ridiculous work in order to reduce costs and time. It may end up that unnecessary is things happen.

Just as an example, maybe the unregistered interior designer just learns a lot about renovation in major renovation websites and forums and can surely find out the problems in construction, if nothing is known, it is still whatever the construction team says. For the construction team, of course, the more trouble the better, can jerry-rigging, can reduce the material to reduce the material Unprofessional you may not be able to find out what problems exist at the time, live up to find all kinds of dissatisfaction.

In order to tighten up the registration law for interior designers in Malaysia, the government should promote this issue on social media to raise public awareness. Of course I still think that hiring a qualified designer would allow for better planning of the layout and use of the limited space according to the size of the space. From the choice of materials to the matching of materials, whether the design is suitable for the homeowner ...... No one knows better than the designer that every detail of the renovation process will produce results Let the owner in the decoration of the decoration less take a detour.

FORUM2: CONTRACT

As professionals in the building industry, do you feel that your role may one day be further reduced or taken over by AI (artificial intelligence) or any other advance software? In the future, laws may change and local authorities could even take over the submission and design process themselves. Could this happen? How can we ensure our role remains relevant and how can we improve our services to clients in the next 20 years?

Artificial intelligence has been in full swing in recent years and is penetrating more and more into all aspects of life, but it also poses many challenges that need to be addressed in the future in order to maximize the benefits of AI for human society while ensuring the subjectivity and dominance of humans over AI.

At the beginning of the forum I really thought that AI could really replace us designers, because I knew that the knowledge base of AI systems is constantly modifiable, expandable and updateable. Moreover, AI is "a machine that can use human thinking or perception". If you input the design that the customer wants, you can get countless types of designs. For designers, there is always some anxiety that they may be replaced by AI, which will conceive, design and present ideas. It's like sometimes it feels like what you learn will soon be replaced by AI.

During the forum discussion I also started to feel that in fact AI can be our best partner. Because the development and advancement of technology is inevitable, even for designers who do creative work However, it is undeniable that humans are an evolving species. As AI continues to change and influence the way we design, our role will change as well. The issue now is to see AI less as a threat and more as a partner that helps us expand our problem-solving capabilities. It's like my classmate said about creating an AI that can generate designs in a short amount of time based on the client's preferences. Wouldn't that make it easier for us and save more time at the same time?

Maybe in the future, instead of making perspective drawings, drafts and furniture selections, we will move to developing these AI software to fit our company's design approach. We'll have to deal with clients, construction management, and getting the right data into AI, but we'll no longer have to spend time doing tedious 3d and drafting

Finally, while AI offers many advantages for interior design, it cannot replace the creativity and expertise of human designers. AI should be seen as a valuable tool that can augment and support designers, help interior designers in their creative endeavors, and enable them to deliver an exceptional and personalized design experience. Therefore, the human element, intuition and artistic sensibility will remain essential in the field of interior design. So I believe that in the future designers will be able to work with IA to create smarter and faster work. Collaboration between humans and IA will accomplish things that previously could not be done alone

FORUM3: FIRESAFETY

What is your opinion on our Fire Safety based on UBBL? Which regulations do you feel are most important and what would your recommendations be to further improve fire safety in buildings? Do you have other methods how we can innovate fire rescue and building safety?

Fire safety in UBBL is very important to protect lives or buildings in critical moments. The main focus of fire safety is on fire detection and alarm systems, fire escape routes, fire resistant building materials, and fire rescue services to achieve safe and efficient evacuation of people in case of fire.

Virtual training programs can be offered to help simulate emergency situations because virtualization can provide a highly immersive experience by creating realistic 3D environments that provide immersion and realism. Trainees feel as if they are present in a simulated emergency, which enhances their engagement and realism. This immersion helps simulate the stress, urgency, and environmental factors that occur in an actual emergency. In addition to this, the safety training environment helps to simulate emergency situations in VR, providing trainees with a safe training environment. They can learn and practice emergency response procedures without the risk of injury or property damage. Mistakes made in the virtual environment have no real-world impact.

It is recommended that fire detectors be installed Fire detection alarms: Most home fires are discovered late, miss the best time to extinguish the fire or escape, get trapped in the home, and eventually die from inhaling large amounts of smoke. Installing a fire detection alarm can minimize such things from happening. When there is fire and smoke, it detects and emits a high-decibel beeping alarm to alert people to escape

Improving building safety - Good fire protection design and construction review

Maintenance of heavy fire protection facilities and equipment

Continuously improve the technical level of fire protection engineering construction personnel

Good fire protection engineering construction commissioning and acceptance work

"FINANCIAL LITERACY FOR FRESH GRADUATES" BY MAYBANK.

Lecturer shares about interning at a bank

-In reality, there is a mismatch between the expectations of many students and the reality of the workplace Also many people think that corporate life is, for example, stressful But many of my colleagues were much calmer than I expected, and they were actually even my managers and bosses, with whom I met on a rotating basis. They were very helpful and they always encouraged me to ask a lot of questions. So for those of you who are really interested in joining the corporate world, don't be afraid to ask questions. But sometimes you can find the answers on your own first. For example, typing it in on Google or figuring it out yourself before asking can save time. Because the manager is always there and always willing to help you. Constantly you will get to just ask your manager, but understand that your manager is also really busy and does need time.

How to adapt to the bank (share focus, adapt to your profession)

-There are a lot of challenges at the beginning, a lot of people use a lot of financial jargon, and acronyms that take time to figure out. Did a lot of interaction and visualization in the workplace and came back with a lot of knowledge of financial companies and finance. Had to work very hard and did try to learn it all when I would close one of my colleagues. Was there constantly asking questions like what is intellectual property or certain terms unique to him. If you follow the right people on Instagram, I think the right channels will actually lead you to like all these unit trusts, ASBs, etc.

-advice to actually get in the right mindset to learn Don't just get beaten down on it There are a lot more resources on the internet and social media now than we think, and it's possible to connect with some people on LinkedIn and get your insights. If you ask the right questions, if you do your own stand up and just keep trying to motivate yourself, it will become much easier.

Keynote Address: "High Value Opportunities:

Attracting World Class Talents for World Class Organizations & MNCs" by INVESTKL.

Invest Kuala Lumpur is an agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, referred to as the Conference. It works closely to coordinate and ensure that we get the right type of investment for the Greater Kuala Lumpur area. Their initiative started back in 2011 when Malaysia realized that in order to grow as a nation and a people, we need to ensure that we attract the right type of investments to the right type of locations. Now that Malaysia aspires to be a high-income country and to be a high-income country, we need to harness the power of these organizations to move the country forward. We need to make sure that we create the right type of jobs, we need to make sure that we bring the right type of investment in the service sector, that we stay away from the highest low-skilled labor, labor-intensive activities so that we can move the country forward. And that's because Malaysia is producing thousands of graduates today, graduates like you.

Now to today's topic, attracting world-class talent to world-class organizations and multinational corporations, a broad definition of a multinational corporation, an MNC is a multinational corporation. And their focus is on attracting foreign multinational corporations. They come from the Americas, Europe and Asia and own or establish their regional bases in the Big Book. With regional type activities we also have higher value jobs, higher activity and better pay, and that's the focus, higher quality that can drive the country to be a developed country, and that's what we've been doing since 2011.

The competitive environment for investment in Southeast Asia cannot be ignored. We need to have confidence in the strength of our country and how to attract the right type of investment into the country. Malaysia is not a big country. 333 million people, but there are very many graduates coming out of the pipeline with degrees, and we need to make sure that the right type of high-value, high-tech service activities are being created in the country and more. In terms of the larger overall quality, there's a workforce of about 16.1 million people that are also generally very young.

Now, Malaysia has always had a fixed industry and the industry has evolved over time. in the 80s, the journey of industrialization began. The automotive sector, the electrical and electronics sector, the agricultural sector, etc , and many heavy industries, and then, into the 90s, more digital space multimedia super corridor type activities have come into view. We will focus on industries, these are the traditional industries on Asia, including oil and gas, electrical, electronics, financial services and also some telecommunications sectors.

"The Power of LinkedIn & How to Beat ATS" by PETRON.

Today's mentor is a recruiter with 4 years of experience who currently says he is fascinated by the malice of gasoline. Talked to us about grabbing jobs, applying for jobs, and complete resumes. linkedin is the largest professional network in the world. linkedin is your best support and additional professional material A platform to showcase your personality and how you deal with people. The absolute best material to do well on us is our resume. Because during the job search, we try to present ourselves through our resume. So the links you can add to your resume are the best additional material you can use to showcase yourself and it is a way to showcase your skills.

-It was mentioned in the lecture that we were in the COVID batch, so they didn't get to attend any events on campus. Will that have an impact on our interview. If there's a lack of, say, extra classes, then you have to compensate for that. You can also go and compensate for internship experience If you want your resume to be a rich folder, then elaborate more in the rest of my section. Let's say internship experience and some internship experience, etc.

-Is a high CGPA important to get accepted? It depends on the relevance of the vacancy. So it's not just the application. Maybe top-notch students just apply and just put in their resumes. We can not only apply, but we have to engage directly with the recorder, and that's how we can present ourselves and show up among other people.

"GET DESIGN WORK AND SUPERCHARGE YOUR CAREER" BY CULT CREATIVEURL

This seminar taught me that employers look for our design creativity and more when selecting candidates. In the 1920s, creativity was a skill most in demand. And you know, technical skills. According to research, personality, personality trumps technical knowledge or skills at all times All of the above are their top choices when hiring people Because, a person may think they are great at design or have super skills or super technology at work, but in reality, the hiring company just wants someone with the right attitude, someone who will fit in with the culture. It's important to let the hiring company know what your strengths are, what's interesting, and not get distracted by extraneous items. They can see that they have expert knowledge of what you have to offer that is interesting without being distracted by some irrelevant items.

Of course, showcase the diversity of design. A range of skills as an artist or creative person. It can showcase different mediums or different forms of projects such as video project writing, photography, or how to form. But it needs to have a clear label. Because if it's not clearly labeled as to what it's about and what media it involves, it may not give the best feedback. Recruiting companies can't be clear about their presentation design either. So in that feedback, we'll know what we have to offer. If you don't have enough diversity to showcase your work, you can make a fake presentation. You can go to the website and get a fake presentation.

There's pressure on creators. Because if you're with a smaller team, you might not make as much money, and if you're with a larger team, there's a better feeling, like winning, or having better visibility, or being known, or having your name out there.

“Best Practices in Curating Architectural Design CV & Portfolio” by JAFRI

ARCHITECTS.

-Don't answer too common topics in the interview, such as name, age, hobbies, work experience, which are on the resume, in fact, the most important thing that companies want to know is whether the applicant can do the job, including: the strongest skills, the most in-depth study of the field of knowledge, the most positive part of the personality, the most successful things done, major achievements and so on, these can be unrelated to learning, but also can be related to learning. These can be unrelated to studies or related to studies, but highlight your positive personality and ability to do things in a way that the company believes Personality will also be a requirement for job applications

-Companies also need to hire employees who are great at presenting clients to showcase their projects. So it will make a great presentation that shows the prominence of your work and demonstrates your way of thinking. Show work or topics that emphasize the relevant work you are looking for. For your product make a quality presentation to them to give them a good impression of you. Choose your best items to present and show them from the pace and process of the presentation, zooming in on the important details. Let them see the difference in your particular presentation of yourself.

-Why should we choose you out of many interviewees? To have the expertise, experience and contacts that I have gained in my job, which I believe is exactly what your company is looking for. I also have a smooth and mature work ethic and emotional intelligence, and can work well with supervisors and colleagues. Also after years of training and gaining experience and contacts, it is important to let the company know that you have the experience and can handle the position.

-When completing a certain job, you think the way the leader asks is not the best. I will still respect and obey the leader's work schedule, but at the same time, I will look for opportunities to politely express my ideas in the tone of a private request to see if the leader can change his or her mind. If the leader does not take my suggestion, I will do the job as carefully as the leader asks me to do.

-Goal. In the next few years, I want to continue to develop my design skills. One of the reasons I want to join a fast-growing startup is that I have been able to work in many different roles and departments. I believe that this experience will help me achieve my ultimate goal of designing for the future. In the next five years, I hope to become an industry expert in my field, with the ability to train junior designers and more I also hope to specifically develop expertise in user experience and become a well-rounded contributor, collaborating with design and marketing teams on large scale projects that make a difference to companies and the global community.

"REIMAGINING SPACES _

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AND THE METAVERSE, FUTURE IS HERE AND NOW"

This conversation is about Metabus' block. metabus' block has its own cryptocurrency bot. So you can create content, create avatars, create assets in some way. Digital currency in this is not an on-chain currency, but it's still you know the internet economy. metabus, like sandbox and digital, they have their own so-called on-chain currency.

Metabus is actually a bridge to multiple technologies Blockchain again, on-chain currency is people's currency, NFT actually works on blockchain, whether they might be funded or other chains that are popping up every day, it's all virtual space. So now our goal is to get into the physical space as a medium, you call it communicating the physical space. We use digital space, effects, 3D animation, 3D modeling, etc.

Usually it's done with cryptocurrency, but now there are more and more cases where double S has been more accepted. Fiat is also accepted. Fiat refers to the official country of the respective country's official currency. So in our case it's regulated, in physical property, and of course you you might say oh I hear this, you can buy what they call a house or a car as legal tender. So it's something that's not that different. But by design Metabus could go any other way because of the illusion of gravity, or lack thereof. In fact, I foresee Metabus being much freer in the near future. For now, as an introduction, we are still in the pool, with the prospect of applying speed to traffic, because we are not used to floating around. As an architect, as an interior designer, we know something is top, something is bottom, something is left and right based on our gravity tools. Since our local perception has become more and more advanced, we are now very primitive.

What we're trying to do is to get to real and physical, real and digital So what we're trying to do is look at what kind of database are you going to make? Is it going to be a completely digital experience? Not at all related to the real world. That's possible. But if you want to have some kind of bridge, you have to have some kind of bridge. So that's what it does, that's what simulation does, let's say a factory, let's say you're building a car, let's say you're building a, let's say yes, so now you're building a new kind of, let's say five processes to three processes. Now you want to know how fast you can do it, it might take 1-2 hours.

CONCLUSION

I learned a lot and was very grateful for the opportunity to attend all the lectures and forums provided by the lecturers and successful people because the discussions on how to create a proper resume, portfolio, CV, preparing for job interviews and how to answer questions and dress etiquette were very useful for people like me who are preparing for a job search. Of course all the forums were eye-opening for me because there were many students sharing their views and opinions, which allowed me to learn from their perspectives as a whole.

Being passionate about what I am looking forward to helps me to listen to the speakers when applying to my assigned company. Sometimes I just ask myself, are my skills and credentials good enough? Are the requirements and environment of that company a good fit for me? What if I'm not accepted by the company I want to work for? But of course, I don't have to worry about that now. All I had to do before trying to get in was have the speaker say that I could prepare an amazing, neat resume and portfolio that employers could look at and know that one of the companies might be interested in my work. This workshop helped me learn how to be well prepared for a job search and to know what I am interested in. The presenters clearly presented slides full of communication information. I would like to thank the presenters for sharing their experiences, knowledge, work experiences and career paths.
