Last school year, I formed Student Superintendent Connection Councils at both the middle and high school levels. This week, we had our first meeting of the Middle School Student Superintendent Connection Council at Willow Springs. I am fairly confident that the students’ favorite part of the council is that they get to eat Chick fil A. My favorite part is getting to know
each of them and learning about their educational experiences in Lovejoy ISD. This is a precious opportunity for me to prioritize student voice and offer students an opportunity to express what they think is important regarding their education, along with what can be improved. I asked the students to share what was going well and what needed improvement from their perspective. Almost every student, identified Leopard Time as a positive highlight. There were rave reviews about how Leopard Time has given them time for additional academic support as well as time to decompress.
Challenges included pushing in the hallway and kids being mean to each other. A couple of the students shared that they have started a club during Leopard Time that focuses on acts of kindness to help address this concern. Mr. Koder participated in the council meeting with me and was very responsive to both the students’ celebrations and concerns.
After the meeting, I kept thinking of the significance of our students taking action to spread more kindness as well as Mr. Koder and the Willow Springs team taking action to implement Leopard Time. Our actions have impact. I am grateful for the intentional actions our students and educators have taken at Willow Springs to positively impact each other.

Lovejoy High School Principal, Dr. Zambiasi, said, "It was impressive to watch our coaches continue to encourage, push, and coach each runner, and it's even more amazing to witness the culture that Coach Littlefield, Kelly, and Benson have built. As I watched the races, numerous parents commented on both the success of the teams and the great experiences and memories their kids had from being a part of the Cross Country program."
It's not a surprise that Coach Littlefield and Coach Kelly were also named the 5A District 13 Coaches of the Year!
of you, and good luck at Regionals rand Prairie at Lynn Creek Park.
Warning: Cuteness overload!!! Thank you Lucas Fire Department for providing a fun and educational opportunity for our Lovejoy Child Development Center students to learn about and connect with our local community heroes.

Personal Highlights:
My husband and I met in high school and have been together for 23 years, and married for almost 15 years. We have two wonderful children that are in 5th grade at Sloan Creek and 2nd grade at Hart Elementary.
I have a love of game shows and went to the Price is Right when I was 18 (and my friend was picked to be a contestant). My kids still roll their eyes when I turn on Wheel of Fortune. We absolutely love to be outdoors. The beach is our absolute favorite but being in the mountains is a close second. We are so excited to be taking our kids skiing for the first time this year.
Drive student success by defining and leading the culture, expectations, and priorities of a campus in alignment with Lovejoy's graduate profile, district priorities and core values. Building and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members.
At Sloan Creek, we feel strongly that collaborating with our parents builds strong connections and opportunities for growth amongst our students. Creating new opportunities for parents, teachers, PTO, and community members to connect is a high priority on our campus. We are excited to celebrate:
New opportunities for parents to volunteer around the building and at Leopard Time. The "Creek Coalition" (staff members from each content area and grade level) which provides voice and opportunities for staff to collaborate. Staff Member "Kid Talks" which are a deep dive into how each student doing to ensure they are growing and thriving. Our Sloan Creek PTO; they make incredible opportunities for our students and staff.
I feel incredibly grateful to be part of this community. I have experienced these connections personally as a family in the district and now professionally as the principal of Sloan Creek.
