Happy Thanksgiving, Lovejoy! As we enter this season of gratitude, I am reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for in Lovejoy ISD. We are blessed with exceptional students who continue to excel, remarkable educators who pour their hearts into their work, and dedicated parents and community members who support ourmission.IhopeThanksgivingbreakgivesyou and your family time to connect, rest, and recharge. My parents are traveling to spend Thanksgiving with us, and I will be preparing Thanksgiving dinner for the first time in more thanadecade.Allprayersarewelcome!

Thankyoutoeverystudent,parent,andcommunitymemberwhotookthetime to write heartfelt, handwritten notes of gratitude and appreciation. Lovejoy High School is home to 469 students recognized as AP Scholars, representing 30% of our high school population. Our percentage of AP scholars hasincreasedeachyearfrom17.28%in2021.Thisachievementreflectsthehard workofourstudentsandthededicationofoureducators.Congratulationstoour studentsandAPteachersonthisaccomplishment!

For16years,theLovejoyFineArtsFestivalhasservedasanannualreminderof ourVisualArtsprograms’capacityforgrowth,predispositiontowardscuriosity, and commitment to collaboration. The K-12 Evolution Exhibit will open Thursday,Dec.4thfrom5:00-7:30pmintheLHSGallery (all parents of students with selected work have been notified).Thiscelebrationofworkfromacrossall Lovejoy campuses exudes the intentional practice and exploration artists demonstrateateveryleveloftheirartisticjourney.Fortheexhibit’sopeningon Dec. 4th, each campus will have process work on display in the commons to walk our friends and family through the thinking and experimentation that is inherentwithineachartist’screativeprocess,alongsideanexpansiveselection ofworkfromourAPStudioartists.
We hope you will join us for an evening of connection, hot chocolate, live music from our Lovejoy Orchestra, and a celebration of these emerging artists!

Lovejoy Libraries are excited to announce the 2nd Annual Sora Reading Challenge! This November and December, all Lovejoy students and staff are invited to soar into reading using thedistrict’sreadingapp,Sora.
This year’s theme, “Read like a Dragon: Fuel Your Imagination!”, encourages readers to dive into magical adventures and ignite their creativity.Thetop20readersfromeachcampus will earn dragon-inspired keychains created by theLovejoylibrarians.
Thisyear’stheme,“ReadlikeaDragon:FuelYourImagination!”,encouragesreaders todiveintomagicaladventuresandignitetheircreativity.Thetop20readersfrom eachcampuswillearndragon-inspiredkeychainscreatedbytheLovejoylibrarians. But that’s not all! The campus with the highest total reading minutes will be crownedtheTopWinner!Standoutreadersfromthewinningcampuswillreceivean exclusive3D-printeddragon!

The Lovejoy Child Development Center welcomed families this week for its annual Thanksgiving Lunch, bringing together students and loved ones for a warm and festive celebration. The cafeteria was filled with smiles as families sharedaspecialmealandmeaningfultimetogether.
TheeventshowcasedthestrongcommunityspiritthatmakesLCDCsospecial. Lovejoy ISD is grateful for our families and wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!














ThirdgradershavebeendivingintoBalloonsOverBroadway,byMelissaSweet, as part of their study on the history and creativity behind the Macy’s ThanksgivingDayParade.Afterlearningabouttheartistryandengineeringthat bring parade balloons to life, students began imagining and designing their ownuniqueballoonconcepts.
Thisweek,thoseideasjumpedoffthepageasstudentsbuilttheircreationsand prepared them for a class parade. Each student also wrote a persuasive piece explaining why their balloon deserved a place in the parade lineup, blending creativitywithwritinganddesignskills.
Itwasajoyful,hands-oncelebrationofreading,imagination,andcollaboration, completewithafestivethird-gradeparadeshowcasingtheirhardworkandbig balloonideas.








Lovejoy Robotics had another outstanding weekend as teams from the 1082 programdeliveredstrongperformancesattheWylieTournament.
Teams 1082E and 1082M joined forces to earn the title of Tournament Champions,demonstratingexcellentstrategy,teamwork,andengineeringskill. Team 1082J also had an impressive run, finishing as Tournament Finalists. Additionally, 1082M earned the Design Award for the strength of their engineeringnotebookanddesignprocess.
Theprogramalsoexcelledinrobotskills,withTeams1082E,1082M,and1082J placing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively, showcasing the depth of talent and consistencyacrosstheroboticsprogram.
Congratulations to all of the student competitors for their hard work, dedication,andcontinuedgrowth.LovejoyRoboticsisproudofthewaythese studentsrepresentthedistrictandsupportoneanotherthroughouttheseason.





TheLovejoyBoysBasketballteamisofftoanimpressive3–0start.OnSaturday, theLeopardsdeliveredadominant72–47winoveratalentedMesquitesquad attheCowtownTip-OffhostedatNorthCrowleyHighSchool.
TheykeptthatmomentumgoingonTuesdaywitha57–44victoryintheirhome openeragainstMesquitePoteet.
This weekend, the Leopards are competing in the Prosper ISD Classic, where they opened tournament play with a hard-fought 76–72 win over a strong McKinneyBoydteam.
