Freshmen English students participated in a literacy activity designed to prepare them for reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Working collaboratively, the students explored key vocabulary from the novel, using visuals to help connect the words with their meanings. They also made predictions about the story based on the vocabulary and accompanying images. The activity served to build background knowledge and spark curiosity prior to beginning the classic text.
