Aswestandatthethresholdofanewschoolyear,Iam filled with immense gratitude for our educators and staff. They have been working diligently over the summertoprovideyourfamilywithanoutstandingstart totheschoolyear.Youcanfeeltheirgrowingexcitement aboutwelcomingyourpreciouschildrenbacktoschool on August 8th and hearing about their summer adventures. My family and I spent a week at the beach. Claire had a PR on the number of critters she caught, Jacob was thrilled to tour the USS Alabama and USS Drum,Jeffenjoyedthedogfriendlybeachforwalkswith Barnaby, and I ate far more than my fair share of seafood.
Lovejoy’s legacy of excellence is strong. In early July, we were announced as the winner of the University Interscholastic League 5A Lone Star Cup. The UIL Lone Star Cup honors the highschoolwiththebestoverallathletic,finearts,andacademicprogramsinTexasineach ofthesixUILclassifications(1A-6A).ThisachievementisaproductofLovejoyHighSchool students’relentlesscommitmenttoexcellenceandwouldnotbepossiblewithoutincredible students,dedicatededucators,andengagedparents.Wearegratefulfortheuniquelyspecial cultureofexcellencethatourLovejoyISDcommunityhasworkedsohardtocreate.Wewill be sharing more information with you soon about when the UIL will visit Lovejoy ISD to presentuswiththeLoneStarCup.

We are excited to welcome students back toschoolonAugust8th!Inpreparationfor the2024-2025schoolyear,LovejoyISDhas updated the student enrollment process. Student enrollment records contain extremely important contact and safety information that must be updated annually; therefore, class lists and scheduleswillonlybereleasedifstudent enrollmentiscomplete.
To complete the annual student enrollment process for the 2024-2025 school year throughthePowerSchoolParentPortal,pleasecompletethefollowingsteps:
AccessthePowerSchoolParentPortal:Loginusingyourcredentials.Ifyouare newtothedistrict,youwillneedtocreateanaccount.Pleasecontactyourcampus forassistance.Click“Forms”onthelefthandside.
1. CompleteAllForms:Aparentorguardianmustcompleteallstudentenrollment forms for each enrolled student. This includes personal information, emergency contacts, medical information, and any other required documentation. Time Saving Tip: Some forms have a “Submit for Family” option which allows you to remit the form for multiple students simultaneously. 2. Enrollment Deadline: All forms must be completed by Sunday, August 4th at Noon.

Our 2024 Leopard Football Season is upon us, and once again our community has the opportunity to watch our students participate in Friday Night Lights! These events are so much larger than the football game and are important to theexperiencestudentshaveatLovejoyHighSchool.Weallseetheimpressive performances of our students in Majestics, band, color guard, and cheer. However,youmaynotnoticestudentswhoarerunningthevideoboard,serving as athletic trainers to keep our athletes safe, and taking pictures for the yearbook.
