Thank you for your heartfelt expressions of appreciation to our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. Lovejoy teachers have a crucial role in our schools, district, community, and most importantly, our children’s lives. I am extremely grateful for the teachers that have impactedmyownchildrenandfeelfortunatethat wehavesomanyparentsinourcommunitythat feelthesameway.
On Tuesday evening, we celebrated the Class of 2037attheLovejoyChildDevelopmentCenterPrekindergarten(Pre-K)Graduation Ceremony.Sixtysoontobekindergartenerswalkedthestageintheirredcapsand gowns and were enthusiastically celebrated by their teachers and families. These precious children bring us great joy and hope for the future. Our Pre-K students shared their future aspirations with us, some of which included teacher, nurse, dentist,racecardriver,Luigi,boss,andcatsitter.ThereisnodoubtthatourPre-K studentshavebeenpreparedwellforthenextstageoftheireducation.Thisyear, they have built their language and literacy skills, established a foundation of mathematical concepts, conducted science experiments, studied about the world aroundthemandthepeopleintheircommunity,increasedintheirindependence, andlearnedaboutbeingagoodfriendtotheirclassmates.
We are Lovejoy proud of our early childhood education program and the rich learning experiences this program provides our students. The closing of Lovejoy ElementarySchoolin2021createdtheopportunityfordedicatedspaceforanearly childhoodprogramthatserveschildrenfrom18monthsto5yearsold.Priortothe opening of the Lovejoy Child Development Center in August of 2021, some of our earlychildhoodstudentswereservedinaportablebuilding.Ourteamhasdonean outstandingjobofdevelopingahigh-qualityearlychildhoodprograminabeautiful learningspacethatmeetstheuniquenewsofouryoungeststudents.
TheLovejoyChildDevelopmentCenterhousesseveralprograms.Ourtuition-based EarlyLearningProgramservesstudentsfromages18monthsto3yearsoldduring the regular school year. The Prekindergarten (Pre-K) program is provided for children
children who turn 4 years old by September 1st of the current school year and is designed to promote both social and cognitive development before entering kindergarten. The two pathways for students to participate include a free Pre-K program for eligible students supported through state funding as well as tuition basedPre-K.
LovejoyISDistheproudhomeoftheStateRunner-Upin5ATeamGirlsTrackand Field! Six athletes participated in the state meet on the girls side and they did an amazingjobofworkingasateamtobringhomeasilvermedal.Congratulationsto Coach Carly Littlefield and her team for this significant accomplishment. Sara Morefield earned 2nd in the 3200 meter and Camryn Benson earned 3rd. Kailey Littlefield earned 2nd in the 800 meter run. Lauren Dolberry, Mia Reaugh, Cailee Horniek,andKaileyLittlefieldearned2ndinthe4x400meterrelay.
We had four boys compete in the state meet, Caden Gary, Will Carlson, Devin Muaina,andColstonAdamson.CadenGaryearnedsilverintheboys5A1600meter run. Congratulations to Coach Logan Kelly and his team on the success of his programthisseason.

This year our auction will be benefiting the Vogel Alcove, a non-profit organization on a missiontohelpyoungchildrenovercomethelastinganddevastatingeffectsof homelessness. Wednesday, May 8th was also Texas Public School Paraprofessional Day!!
Paraprofessionals work with children individually or in small groups providing assistance and basic instruction in education related activities as assigned by teachers. Their classroom support is integral to many students' success. Thank you, Lovejoyparaprofessionals!

Strong school attendance is correlated with higher academic performance. Additionally,averageDailyAttendance(ADA)isametricthattheStateofTexas usestodeterminefundingforpublicschools.Eachweek,thisattendancedata willbeupdatedsoourcommunityisawareofourmostrecentADA.
TheGirlsTrackandFieldTeamistheStateRunner-Upforthe2ndyearinarow!6girls competed and were able to score enough points to get on the podium at the State Championship in Austin. These girls have worked tirelessly and gone above and beyond in their training, nutrition, and daily habits to achieve their goals. They are incredible young women who are fierce competitors, and we are so proud of the successtheyhavehadandthewaytheyrepresentLovejoy!
