As a District, we believe that true educational excellence can only be achieved in partnership with our parents and community. Last night, we launched another stakeholder-based effort through our Capital Planning Committee. The Capital Planning Committee has been charged with serving in an advisory capacity to the School Board and Administration on shortterm and long-term capital needs planning. Capital planning impacts the physical, educational, and financial foundation of Lovejoy ISD and is instrumental to both day to day operations and long term priorities. The Capital Planning Committee will provide the foundation for a systematic approach to planning for the capital needs of Lovejoy ISD.
As a part of this work, the committee will study areas that include facilities, fleet, technology, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
To help the district plan for the future, the Capital Planning Committee will:
Review the District’s current and long-term capital needs assessment data
Consider the educational needs of all students and align recommendations with the district’s mission, vision, and goals
Represent the entire school district community’s values, priorities, and perceptions
Develop an understanding of best practices in educational delivery models and what is needed to support future ready instruction
Understand the district’s current capital needs and funding methods available to develop recommendations that are fiscally sound
Identify opportunities for prioritization in the capital planning process
Provide an assessment of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
The Capital Planning Committee will meet once more in May, break for the summer, and then resume their work after school starts in the fall. We will be sure to keep you updated on their progress
Please remember that Election Day is Saturday, May 6th. This is your opportunity to cast your vote in the Lovejoy ISD School Board Election. We wish each of our Lovejoy Leopards a wonderful weekend.
There is only ONE LOVEJOY and we are ALL LEOPARDS!

Lovejoy ISD hosted the STEM Festival on Saturday, April 29. Students of all ages participated in student showcases, created in the Maker Space, played with robots and drones, and engaged in many other exciting experiences. The annual CANgineering competition also served as a food drive, and we were able to donate cans of food to Allen Community Outreach. This community event couldn't have been possible without our gracious volunteers.

As the Majestics close out the celebrations of their "Sweet 16" birthday year, they had a busy April. The first event was the annual Spring Show, "The Vision", showcasing all different styles of dance including their award winning contest dances, A Cappella choir and solo singer, Katie Nuckels. "The Vision", featured 16 dances by the 2022-2023 Majestics and 2023 Rookies. It was the story of the creation of the Majestics Dance Team 16 years ago and featured the team's core values and special traditions that have earned the Majestics the title of "The Crown of Lovejoy". Seniors Ryder Sullivan and Kynan Lowrance did a great job of taking the audience through the process of discovery and creation which ultimate lead us to "The Vision" – “A Brand New Day”, the Majestics Traditional Finale kick routine.
In addition to Spring Show, the Majestics recently held leadership workshops and tryouts for the 2023 - 2024 Majestics Dance Team Dance and Social Officer Lines. As they close their 16th year, they are excited to announce the following leadership positions:
Dance Officers:
Captain – Avery Hammett
First Lieutenant – Ella Crawford
Senior Lieutenant – Grace Johnson
Junior Lieutenant – Robin Crigger
Junior Lieutenant – Ale Trevino
Social Officers:
Master Sergeant – Ashley Riley
Senior Sergeant – Gianna Bierman
Junior Sergeant – Abigail Cady
Junior Sergeant – Ava Sigmon
Thank you to all who helped the Majestics celebrate this special 16th year. We are excited for our new leadership and already looking forward to the 2023-2024 year.

The LHS Student Council has once again earned recognition as a Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) Outstanding Student Council! The council earns this recognition by successfully organizing and leading student centered events throughout the year, doing specific collaborative projects, and participating in the TASC conferences in the fall and spring. As of this April, only 244 other schools in the entire state of Texas have earned this recognition. Well done STUCO!!!
School Marshal Regan Aguirre, School Marshal Jorge Jacquez, and Director of Safety and Security Casey Littlefield recently attended a Basic SWAT school, hosted by Charlie Mike Company, in Palestine TX. This Basic SWAT course is recognized by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, and is the same course that is required for all law enforcement officials in the state of Texas that are joining their organization's SWAT team. The practical application for this training can be for any individual or team that must maintain an emergency perimeter, respond to an emergency incident, or participate in the secondary functions that may further proceed an emergency event.
The Lovejoy ISD School Marshal team is dedicated to enhancing their response capabilities, and strives to raise the bar in all that they do! Thank you Lovejoy Safety and Security!
