Well now that the summer seems like a distant memory, and the weather is getting colder by the day, its time to look ahead to Autumn here in North Derbyshire!

The year might be almost over but there is plenty left to pack in, from October Half Term, Halloween, Bonfire Night and of course Christmas. Our events pages are jam packed with all the best events and days out for your under fives.

Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs Come and join in all the fun of the pantomime this December at Buxton Opera House There is a festive treat in store for all the family at the annual Buxton Opera House pantomime.

This year’s show stars James Holmes back by popular demand to play the role of the dame, and Lucy Dixon making her debut appearance as Snow White.

Last year he was acclaimed by press and public alike for his performance as Widow Twankey in Aladdin. This year James takes the helm as Dame Brenda Bakewell, who works as a longsuffering palace cook for the wicked Queen Belladonna.

Also performing at Buxton Opera House this Christmas will be the gorgeous Lucy Dixon, who is well known for her many telly roles including Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road.

2016 marks the 25th year that writer/ director Philip Dart and his company have produced the pantomime at Buxton Opera House. The anniversary year with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Philip assures us, will be better than ever, “a real blockbuster of a family show, to celebrate the anniversary in style.” The critics tend to agree last year The Stage called the show “a delightful traditional pantomime

with some innovative tweaks.” Whilst Manchester Theatre Awards hailed it as “a thoroughly entertaining and colourful panto.” Book soon as tickets are already selling well!

There are a host of events and activities on at Matlock Farm Park this Autumn Why not head on down to Matlock Farm Park this Autumn and see what fun and games they have in store for you!

The fantastic ‘Kids Go Free’ offer will run through until February Half Term (see website for terms and conditions) allowing one child to go free with each paying adult. The park is open every day through winter, but from November 1st until Feb Half Term the cafe will be closed on Tuesdays
