Truly Gifted‌ I recently needed a Birthday present for a 4 year old & as I loaded the girls in the car I suddenly remembered that I had not yet visited Gifted so I pointed the car towards Duffield. Derby QUAD are running weekly creative workshops for new and expectant young parents. The free workshops are available to young parents aged up to 25 years, with babies of up to 24 months.

The workshops provide a supportive environment for new and expectant parents, and a chance to meet others, learn skills, share experiences and to be creative with QUAD. Trick or Treat!

A small boy is walking home one day – it’s dark already and as he passes the churchyard, he hears a strange voice: “Turn me over!”. Filled with fear he runs as fast as he can home. He tells his family, but they just laugh.

“Someone is tricking you!” But the next week, the same thing happens and terrified, he runs home again.

Well the third week, he’s determined to find out who – or what it is. He walks nervously through the churchyard. All he can hear is the rustle of leaves. But then… “Turn me over!” …”Turn me over!”.

The young lad peers through the dark. He sees a small building – a stone mausoleum. The voice is coming from inside. He opens the door…creeeaak! …and sees two red eyes glowing at him.

He stares back. As his eyes adjust to the gloom, he sees the eyes are in fact two glowing red coals. He looks some more, and sees a grate over the coals. He stares a bit longer, and what does he see? A beef burger lying on the grate, moaning….”Turn me over!” So the young boy obliging picks up a spatula and turns it over. It sighs and says,“Thank you!”
