NONPROFIT SPOTLIGHT
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for residents affected by mental illness.
NAMI Lorain County is located right here in Lorain serving not only our local community but all surrounding communities throughout the county.
Working in conjunction with other Lorain resources including Gathering Hope House, The Nord Center and the Mental Health, Addiction and Recovery Services Board of Lorain County, NAMI's outreach provides valuable programs for members of our community.
NAMI's mission is to improve the quality of life for people living with mental illness through providing their families and friends with educational opportunities, support groups and advocay in the public arena.
NAMI LISTENS & SUPPORTS
NAMI provides support groups for individuals and their loved ones led by trained individuals with shared experience. All sessions are currently being held through video conferencing.
NAMI ADVOCATES

NAMI shapes national public policy for people with mental illness and their families and provides volunteer leaders with the tools, resources and skills necessary to save mental health in all states.
NAMI EDUCATES
NAMI's education programs ensure families, individuals and educators get the support and information they need surrounding mental health.
