First-yearstudents elect new leaders· by Angela Mattioni staff writer

Voters chose first-yearstudents, who ran unopposed,to some positionson the programming,academic and issues boards. Elections were held Sept. 20 to 22. All positions were filled. First-yearstudentsJoe Uff,Kevin Benjamin and Evanique Lindsey were voted into positionson the issuesboard. Now thesestudentsmust decideamongthemselvesas to what title positions they will hold on the board. They must decideupon vice president,secretaryand treasurer. Thesestudentswillrelaystudents' general grievances or suggestions about campus life to the executive board in writing or face-to-facediscussion. Theprogrammingboardwas also voted upon. First-year students Michele McDevitt, Erika High and Roman Gabriel were elected. • These students will also choose

among themselves for more specific titles. These students will report the suggestionsandthoughtsofthefreshman classtojunior JohnLindsay,the chairmanof the CAP board,campus activitiesand programmingboard. Lindsaythen reportsto the larger Student Government Association during meetings. Only one student fills the position of academic representativefor the freshman class, first-year student Justin Falciani. Falciani will work with junior Edie Lamberti, academic chair. Students will come to him with their suggestions or problems concerning academics or even problems with teachers.
