people throughout the world. According to Sister Bernadette AneJ!o, MSC., director of campus ministry, Bread for the World is utilized as a resource for statistics and information to help them with Hunger Awareness Week. The organization raises money to help the hungry, but is also involved in legislative efforts. Bread for the World also works on hunger relief efforts in the United States. As a result of a letter-writing campaign, funding for food and nutrition programs were maintained after two years of budgets cuts. Simon's book, "Bread for the World," won the National Religious Book Award in 1976. In his book Simon not only told of the plight of the hungry, but gave solutions that everyday people can work towards. His most recent book is "Harvesting Peace: The Arms Race and Human Need."

staff writer

Head of the social work program, Sister Regina Peterson, MSC, has resigned. Peterson has been on a leave of absence this semester due to the fact that lier religious community is asking her to do other work in her c01:nmunity.
