Morning is a quiet time as cleaners sweep the marble floors. Heavy wood doors are unlocked and people walk at a leisurely pace. As the clock inches towards 9 a.m., the early morning quiet is broken as people rush in and out of offices at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pa. It was just a run-of-the-mill day on Thursday, Oct. 3, in courtroom E for judges, lawyers and stenographers. But it was a day of great importance for Cabrini graduate, John Sparta, 22, as his sentencing was to be heard and his fate to be decided. "I'm really nervous," Sparta said before the sentencing. "I just want to get this over with." Sparta, a Havertown resident, pleaded guilty in June to two separate charges of

drunken driving and homicide by motor vehicle in connection with the death of former Cabrini student, David Pisko, on Dec. 14, 1990. Judge Paul W. Tressler sentenced Sparta to 3 to 23 months in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. Sparta began his sentence on Monday, Oct 7. Sparta, Pisko and two other Cabrini students, graduate Edward Avena and current senior Michael Reidy had gone to the Touche's nightclub in the Valley Forge Hilton. According to reports, they had gone to Touche 's because of a 25-cent-per-drink special. Sparta, who was driving the car when the four left Touche's, lost control on S. Henderson Road in King of Prussia and hit a utility pole. Pisko was pronounced dead on the scene due to massive head injuries,
