The Bloomingdale Park District strives to efficiently and economically provide recreation programs, facilities and open space for enjoyable leisure time experiences that benefit the community.
Summer is our busiest time of year, and this year is no exception! We have exciting improvements coming to your parks! At Sunnyside Park, we are very pleased to announce our first-ever all-pickleball courts at the BPD. These pickleball courts are funded in part by a grant from Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). We are working in close cooperation with our colleagues at the Village to be sure that the construction work includes necessary drainage enhancements and complies with Village construction regulations.
At Indian Lakes Park, a new playground that reflects the input from a number of neighborhood meetings is being installed! The enhanced play area is designed to meet the community’s needs while making sure budget considerations are met. Plans also include new benches and path improvements All the Park District staff and commissioners are excited to see these projects come to life and look forward to continuing to provide spaces that bring healthy activities, joy and connection to our community.
As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in serving our residents, we are proud to announce the completion of the Bloomingdale Park District's Comprehensive Master Plan (CMP) for the next five years. This plan serves as a vital roadmap, guiding our agency in prioritizing resources, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and addressing the evolving needs of our community.
The CMP is a collaborative effort that evaluates our programs, facilities, and services to ensure we continue to meet the high standards our residents expect Through extensive community feedback and careful planning, this document outlines our strategic goals, aligning them with the District’s mission to enhance the quality of life for everyone in Bloomingdale.
Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this new chapter, ensuring that the programs and amenities we provide today remain a cornerstone of community enrichment for generations to come
See you in the parks!
Sincerely,
Andre Burke President Bloomingdale Park District Board of Commissioners

BPD also won a third place ribbon in the Integrated Photo category for the autumn-themed image on the cover of the Autumn program guide, capturing the beauty of Circle Park.

The Bloomingdale Park District Museum is Bloomingdale’s oldest building and home to five to seven exhibits and 1,000+ visitors per year
Built in 1849 as the First Baptist Church of Christ, visitors today can view the original 1849 ceiling, knotty pine floor, and some of the original glass pane windows. Bloomingdale Academy took over the property in 1860. In 1892, the building became the center of town serving as both the Township Office and the Town Hall. A jail cell was installed in 1910
The historic building was sold to the Bloomingdale Park District in 1965 for the purchase price of $1. The Park District soon began to offer programming to residents at this location Fine arts and cultural exhibits began to emerge in the early 80s A major restoration occurred in 1998 and included an art gallery addition Additionally, much of the original architecture was restored and refurbished.

Please Note: With your child’s best interests in mind, parents are asked not to attend their child’s class unless invited by the instructor We have found the quality of instruction has often been affected by parent and/or sibling distractions, interruptions and various other concerns. It is of equal importance that children have quality leisure time with their peers. Our instructors welcome the opportunity to discuss concerns with parents before or after class, time permitting. Thank you again for your cooperation
Gymnasts must be appropriate age by the first day of the class
Participants should bring their own water. Participants should wear leotards or other tight-fitting clothing with no zippers, buttons or hoods.

Gymnastics coaches reserve the right to place gymnasts into the class best-suited to their abilities. If the gymnastics coach feels your child has been placed in the wrong class, he or she will notify you of the necessary change.
If your gymnast missed one or more sessions, they must be tested in order to re-enter the same level class.
(Beginner 2 & up)
Classes that require coach invitation means that the gymnast has fulfilled the skill requirements and has been approved by their instructor to move up to the next level
