As we conclude the celebration of the Bloomingdale Park District’s 60th Anniversary, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support. This milestone year was filled with memorable events, programs and giveaways, beginning with the Stratford Park Ribbon Cutting in May, which served as the official kickoff for our anniversary celebration. We offered several new opportunities to engage with the Park District including the 60th Anniversary Car Show as part of the annual Touch-A-Truck and Kite Fly
To conclude the 60th Anniversary celebration, the Bloomingdale Park District Museum will host a special exhibit showcasing items from the past six decades of the Park District. The exhibit opens during the Festival of Lights on Saturday, November 30, and features 4x4 canvas designs from the Community Canvas Project, created at events over the past eight months Don’t miss this unique 60th Anniversary display!
We’ve had the privilege of highlighting the Park District's founding in 1964 and the many ways it has enriched our community. From fun-filled family activities to opportunities for connection and reflection, each event and the various programs and activities celebrated the history, growth, and future of our award-winning Park District.
We are incredibly proud of how the Park District has evolved, and it is because of you our residents that we continue to thrive. Here’s to the next 60 years of quality parks and recreation, and joy in Bloomingdale!
See you in the parks.
Sincerely,
Andre Burke President Bloomingdale Park District Board of Commissioners

The Bloomingdale Park District Museum is Bloomingdale’s oldest building and home to five to seven exhibits and 1,000+ visitors per year
Built in 1849 as the First Baptist Church of Christ, visitors today can view the original 1849 ceiling, knotty pine floor, and some of the original glass pane windows. Bloomingdale Academy took over the property in 1860. In 1892, the building became the center of town serving as both the Township Office and the Town Hall. A jail cell was installed in 1910
The historic building was sold to the Bloomingdale Park District in 1965 for the purchase price of $1. The Park District soon began to offer programming to residents at this location Fine arts and cultural exhibits began to emerge in the early 80s A major restoration occurred in 1998 and included an art gallery addition Additionally, much of the original architecture was restored and refurbished.

Our feet are crucial to keeping us active and healthy. When something goes wrong with our feet our whole body has to deal with it and often it has a domino effect all the way up the body Since we take thousands of steps each day we need to take better care of this foundational part of our body. The feet have 200,000 neurons per foot, 26 bones, 33 joints and 4 layers of muscle and since we spend most of our time in shoes we have weakened our feet This clinic will go over care for our feet and learn ways to strengthen them for a better foundation for all that we do in sport and everyday life.

Our feet are crucial to keeping us active and healthy When something goes wrong with our feet our whole body has to deal with it and often it has a domino effect all the way up the body Since we take thousands of steps each day we need to take better care of this foundational part of our body. The feet have 200,000 neurons per foot, 26 bones, 33 joints and 4 layers of muscle and since we spend most of our time in shoes we have weakened our feet. This clinic will go over care for our feet and learn ways to strengthen them for a better foundation for all that we do in sport and everyday life. Drop-in rate: $12/$15.
