“Why so many changes to the golf staff? Some of them don't even know who you are. When asked a normal question they seem to always have to ask Jack or Wes. Clinics are at a difficult time on Saturdays in the hot Months. I do like that the pro shop does try to get you started at an early tee when available“
“I find the rough inconsistent in length. Just a few inches can make a huge difference in the difficulty of the lie. Granted if I hit in the fairway all the time this wouldn't be an issue. The many areas that are just hard dirt are a particular challenge. The sand is my biggest gripe.Very inconsistent as to how much sand I will have under my ball“
“I’m also an equity member of a country club in TN. My ratings are based upon comparison of the 2 and other private clubs that I travel to“
“Not enough funds to improve many areas needed. Summer ponds are empty not enough water used on course. maybe worst off fairway course around. Maintain Hog elimination. Carts slow for pace of play. Bunkers not professionally rebuilt. Trees not maintained on course allowing problems. Ponds maintain for beauty of course.. scenery upgraded for beauty of a golf course the ditch infront of 9 and 18 input course rule. Pace of play halts especially on 9 looking for balls i ditch. “I have been ill most of the year. We enjoy the Club. The men ’ s bathrooms need a LOT of work. Special thanks to Anne, Heather, Zach, Pedro and the waitstaff. I have several business meetings here each year “
“Bunker strategy needs a complete overhaul. While the overall condition of the course is good, there are many small areas which need addressed. Cart path re-entry on #4 and #6. Cart path exit on #17. Bare spots in fairways...to the left of right fairway bunker on #14; bare spots on right side of #18 fairway about 200 yards out from tee box; the whole maintenance path before the bayou on #18; etc.“
“Small details, cart signs, yardage markers ( in fairway and path) ropes, enter/ exit signs… small details, not costly items…will make a difference“
“Friendly outgoing and knowledgeable staff in proshop Greens are excellent and Willy and his staff have done an excellent job considering the age and quality of the equipment and the limited staff (although that has improved lately) Oil leaks a little too frequent probably need more routine and continuous maintenance. It would be nice to have the fairways aerated/plugged as was done early in the club history I really think we should hit off mats on the driving range more often to let grass grow. The driving range where the flags are definitely needs irrigation and manicured pin areas. This is a selling point for new members and it looks beat up and poorly maintained. George and his staff does a good job of getting balls out early in the morning. It would be nice if the flag distances were updated each day on the board as was done in the past. I think it would also be nice if the golf pros every so often walked down the driving range and give some free advice/tips to the members. Would probably lead to more lessons down the road“

“We need water coolers or bottles all the time, especially during the week, They are good on the weekends , but in the afternoons during the week its hit or miss. A water fountain like on ten on 7 and 14 would be ideal“

Maintenance crew does a good job with what they have. Would like to see their budget increased in order to do what they need to do. Would like to have bag covers on the golf carts“
“My wife and I are considering canceling or reducing our membership. We both work during the week and attend church on Sunday, so the only morning we can play is Saturday. With our 6-year-old, we do not want to play in the breakfast club“
“I believe with minimal capital improvements the course could be greatly improved. For example, having tee markers with yardage consistent throughout the course. As well, we could use consistent wood curbs or stakes to keep carts on path and shift them every few days to avoid dirt paths. There are also several areas, particularly on the front nine where the rough is just dirt. Make it a waste area or plant some grass. Overall, it's a decent value for the money paid“

“Overall we have a beautiful course. We live just off the course so we drive the course for events in our cart. My only concern is the overall upkeep of the rough. People unfortunately blow their yard waste onto the course but the weeds become very overgrown along the outside of the course and that portion just doesn’t appear as well maintained as it could. There are also numerous places where the cart path needs “lifted” maybe? There are some poor drainage areas. Again, I think for the weather we have here in the area, the course tee to green, with the exception of the bunkers is awesome. My favorite area is 4-6. I love the natural look we keep there. (Least favorite holes to play)“
“Update the course bathrooms, even if it requires a special contribution or donation from the members. Establish a program for members to donate money or otherwise contribute to course beautification projects like landscaping around pro shop or front of clubhouse or select tee boxes“

“It is very frustrating to know that my only days i can play are Saturday and/or Sunday and we cannot play on Saturday morning because of Breakfast Club.
There are too many tournaments, and pace of play is horrendous. there should be a marshal on course to ensure its on time.
There have been many occasions where i have a tee time but somehow a twosome jumps on the tee box ahead of us who did not have a tee time or was after our tee time go ahead. its even worse is they play slowly“
“My husband and I have started playing again on Sundays and I have to say I am disappointed in the state of the course right now. I'm going to be completely honest with you -- a lot of fairways are not in great condition - wet in spots due to poor drainage, dry areas or no grass in others. Some of the tee boxes are like cement. Bunkers either have too much sand or none. Play is extremely slow, there are always groups of 5 who play very slow. I am glad you are giving the clubhouse a facelift and hope you will do the same on the course “

“Ann, Wes, and Zach ... I cannot speak highly enough. I feel like we are very lucky to have them and they have made the Willowfork experience so much better. Please retain these folks...
General course cleanup of rough, under trees, and areas around cart paths need to be addressed. So much exposed dirt, piles of tree debris, acorns, exposed roots, etc. Additionally, the work done a few years ago to 'fix' our bunkers did not pan out.
Not sure if it's possible, but, since this is a private club...can we make it a rule that if you don't fill your divots or repair ball marks...the other members get to kick you in the head? That would be nice...
In general, I love this club and want to help make it the best club in Houston!“
“I'm really happy with the remodeling project. It would be nice if we could use the upstairs balcony for drinks and eating meals. It's a very nice space, and I think it should be used more. Ideally there would be an outside staircase“
“The Breakfast club takes up a lot of tee times on Saturdays.
Sometimes there is no grass on the range by the afternoon.
It was nice to get the newer carts.
What can be done with the hard pan areas? Dont have a solution but asking what can be done“

“Tee Boxes. Players don't fill in divots, but there' s not enough sand in the bottles. Bunkers - Are inconsistent and 99% don't have enough sand in them. Rough - Mostly dirty and roots, because we have too many trees. Restrooms - Guys bathrooms are embarrassing. Rusty frames, holes in the ceilings or walls, completely outdated.

The wash out areas down the fairways is getting to the point it looks like a municipal course, too many exposed roots, will cause an injury. Lots of bare spots all over the course, how about planting some seed so grass will grow. Bring back the ball washers and trash cans, fresh towels would be nice again. COVID is over let's get back to offering Country Club amenities, you can do better than what your offering. Spend money where the money is made (The golf Course) without a good golf course you have nothing to offer. The course gets a lot of play so reinvest in the course. “

“The golf course could be so much better. It seems as if either Willy is understaffed or does not have the budget. I think the pro shop should go look at the tees, fairways, bunkers and greens every morning to see conditions. There is at least one tee placement every day that shouldn’t be moved. The tees are consistently on a sprinkler head or on an incline/decline. Most days all of the par 3’s are the same distance. These are just a couple of examples of how the course could be better. The driving range is always in poor condition. If the pro shop would enforce the proper way to use the driving range space slotted, it would be much better. I know there is a sign, but it is not enforced. The range staff should continue to pick up balls & stack them accordingly at the short game area. I have been there several times where the staff is simply sitting around when they could be tidding up the short game area. It comes down to doing the little things to make it a better club. Instead of having a guy waiting on 18 to clean your clubs, (fishing for a tip), have them go pick balls at the short game area and putting green “
“The range should stay open later. I don’t even finish work each day until 5pm. It seems every time I want to try and come out, the range is closed already“

“I do not like playing behind a group of 5, even when they are good it slows down the pace. the sand in the bunkers is not consistent, sometimes it is really wet and other times it is not leveled out, but I don't play that well so maybe its just my perception“

“Many tee boxes are not flat. Two of the worst ones are 10 and 15. Both of those need work to level the tee boxes. 18 has a significant slope on the tee box as well and needs work to level it“

“Greens are typically excellent , recent aero fixation has taken too long to heal, greens needed more sand. Bunkers are always a mess (box of chocolates).
Tee boxes that were recently redone should be in better shape. RR in Mens Locker room is ugly and old! Course RR are what they are. I always have issue with quality of grass on DR (there is none) it takes a beating yes but Cinco Ranch always in good shape. I have no answers “

“Blocking tee times for certain groups is unfair to the rest of the membership. We got away from this and now we are back. Eliminate the blocks. We all pay equal dues for equal access. Need to remind members about pace of play and letting groups play through if they are especially slow. The majority of the time the condition of the bunkers is terrible. An enlarged short game area would help handle the number of people who would like to use “
“It would be nice to have level T Boxes or at least place the tee markers on level ground...all 18 tee boxes have the ability to do that...just needs to be done. I have taken 3 cold showers in the men's locker room...get some hot water in there. I don't understand why the beverage cart is so scarce and not running on a more frequent basis. The driving range needs some distances on the markers so we know who far we are hitting because the top tracer doesn't work that well it seems. Perhaps set the range up for both grass and mats because after the morning times the grass is all chewed up and the range is terrible to hit off of“
“Willow Fort is behind the ball and needs to catch up with other courses. The amenities on the course are almost nonexistent, very rarely seeing a cart person. The driving range is the worst in the city. Often hitting off of just regular ground very little grass by the time you get there. The Toptracer technology very rarely works. The tournaments are a joke. Aside from the payout there are very little attractions to a tournament that is identical to free play on Saturdays…“

I think memberships that have 2 people capable of collecting twice on holes in one, should pay double“
“Using of the handicap in tournament and breakfast club need improvement. Cross board discounts is not fair, as the scratcher and low handicap players have a big advantage. I would suggest discount applies only to high handicap (>18)“

“The courts are awesome now! Thank you for the resurface! My only concern in the past has been the upkeep of the courts and windscreens. I don’t know the WF policy regrading these but I do think thy should kept up with good ties and not ripped. There have been a few times I have played where I had to tuck back the screen to keep it from blowing onto the court or pick up a bunch of broken zip ties. I don’t mind but it just looks better to have nice, neat screens that are kept up “
“Getting better, new courts are great and events that integrate members are great. We should try to use tennis to attract more visitors to grow the membership“
“I took one private lesson and the instructor stopped for a break in the middle of the lesson. A lady told me that they all do that. If I'm paying for a full hour private lesson, I want the full hour with no breaks. That was very disappointing. I haven't been back“

We had members pay for the season (Wednesdays, Fridays, (6:00PM) and Saturdays (9:00 or 10:00 AM). Nonmembers which we did have several paid a higher price than members. I believe the season was June through August, but I may not be correct on the months“

Regarding pool, the recent physical upgrades have been excellent and badly needed. More shade areas are needed. The dressing rooms need a COMPLETE overhaul, and ASAP, there should be a snack bar/refreshment facility established where patrons can order a reasonable food and beveerage menu “

“Overall, I would not be supportive of dedicating a lot of resources to the Fitness and Pool because most are members for Golf and Tennis. However, I do think people would use the fitness center more if it had more space and modern equipment“

“In general we don't eat out that much. The food is good and makes for an easy dinner. The staff is wonderful and make eating there a pleasure“

“The quality of the food for the price is poor. Wine prices have gone up extremely high compared to the market. Bottle wine prices are much higher than upper end restaurants for the exact same bottle.
Draft beer prices are high compared to other places.
The bar area should not be considered the main dining room and the menu in the bar area should be reduced to bar type foods. The main dining room should be set up with a nicer menu and nicer dining area.
Kids should not be allowed in the bar area after a certain hour and should never be allowed to sit directly at the bar“
“The waitstaff is outstanding, hands down. You mentioned operating hours, but I cannot complain because I think your staff does a great job at serving your patrons. If it is 7 pm a Tuesday but there are still a lot of people at the club and the waitstaff does a great job of allowing us to finish up slowly without kicking us out right a 7 when the doors close. They take care of their customers. I do not know the rule on that, but I can say having a fluid schedule like that is probably the most beneficial because there are days that are slow and you do not want to stay open until 8 or 9 just waiting. I love the chicken wings!! I do think we should maybe do a tasting menu like we do for the wine and try new menu things from time to time and change some things on a rotation schedule. Some of the food is great, while other things are just ok and need to be rotated maybe a seasonal selection? Also, I would love to see a small cheese board offered. “Sometimes service is slow. There's been times where I've sat down and waited for 5-10 minutes with nobody acknowledging me, so I just got up and left. But most of the time I'm happy with the service“

Downstairs patio is frequently busy during good weather - and often overrun by families. (We welcome them, obviously, but would be nice to have an area that isn't so easily used as an observation point for kids playing on the putting green, etc.)“

“I am invisible when I dine. Consistently now, since joining, I will sit at the bar, unacknowledged, watching person after person be waited on for upwards of 10-15 minutes. When I finally stop waiting patiently and ask for service, I’m told someone will “get to me. ” This happens, without fail, every time including this past Friday when a friend was present. I don’t know if it’s because I’m typically there alone, or because I’m not drinking alcohol to excess so my bill is lower, or something else entirely, but my dining experience has never been good“

“The feedback that we received from our friends who are not members, but who would be perfect candidates, all stems around the appearance of the club. I think it’s great that the owners are investing, but they need to do a lot in order to get our age group Which is younger with middle school aged children to join. Things like the fitness room the locker rooms the dining experience need to be top-of-the-line because everyone is well aware that the golf is close in proximity and worth the membership. Almost everyone that we talk to says the wife is a hard pass because it looks like a dump; husbands want to join, but the optics need to change. The landscaping, the parking lot, the pool house, the fitness room….i get it, it takes money, but as members age out you’ll need the fresh families to keep the club alive. If you told me I had to pay $100 extra a month so I could have a gym that doesn’t give me hand warts, I would happily pay “

“Ann and her staff have done a Herculean job over the last couple of years. Communication has improved dramatically under Anns leadership. Timely updates are really appreciated. It is nice to have staff who don’t just sit in their offices but actually interact and visit with the members. Great group of people. I have been here since the beginning and this is probably the best group of staff (golf and administration) that we have ever had.

“The pace of play is very slow and people are often late for tee times. A course ranger would be helpful. It would also be good if the course hosted more scrambles and tried to explore ways to encourage young families to join or participate.

“My main input (that I would like to discuss more in-person) is that the outward appearance of the club's operation is very poor. Starting at the club house, where it's nice to see some updating being done, but a prospective new member likely has higher expectations than what they initially see. Secondly is the experience on the course. While the greens are exceptional and the fairways are nice, the surrounding views are atrocious. Any easy fix would be strict enforcement of backyard fence maintenance for EVERY HOME THAT BACKS UP TO THE COURSE. I can not understand why the club has no stronger stance on this matter. I've never seen a course that allows the residential aspect to have zero attention. Would be happy to discuss solutions“

“We love Willowfork. I think we started here around 2004/2005 with my husband’s company. We have always kept our WF membership, but tried the young executives at Falcon Point and we even lived in Weston Lakes for 9 years (we just moved back to Katy 2 years ago). Even though we had a membership at WL, we still drove all the way in to golf, play tennis, and socialize at WF. It is a country club where you fell at home. I truly believe WF is more than a club, it’s a community, a family. When someone is ill, injured, celebrating something, yes everyone knows, but they are ALWAYS there for you. I am talking about members and staff. We are all Willow Fork. Thank you keeping Willow Fork affordable, classy, yet relaxed, and making the much needed repairs so we can be proud of our home away from home“

This used to be a fantastic club 20 years ago. We had my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary at Willow Fork and hopefully will have their 70th anniversary this year at The Fork“

“Zak is a #1 employee, Upper management not so great, you send in an email of concern and you either get no response or its several days later. I think Willie needs to pay attention to the details, like sanding the par 3 tee boxes every week, Tee markers are not moved daily, relocating the pins is sloppy, old hole not being repaired properly, fence line mowing is horrible weeds growing a foot high. edging around bunkers is sloppy. Men's locker room bath facility needs an overhaul, outdated and the urinals leak at the fittings. All the bushes and landacaping has been taken away so the grouds are boring no curb appeal“

“The people really make the club what it is. The course can be really great but it needs a ton of work to be great. Stop putting money into the pool area and spend it on the course. Additionally I joined in Sept 2023 and my initiation fee was $2500. Now the initiation fee is $500 in less than a year. Offer full members like me free cart rentals for a year in order to show good faith for sticking by the club even though it's not up to the fees we currently pay “

(The recent mixer / party with cornhole you could only participate in with a pre-arranged team comes to mind.) Maintenance staff needs to be adequate to correct minor maintenance issues right away and seek to inprove the clubhouse experience. “The management of Willowfork needs new faces. The facility as a whole is not inviting or welcoming, and the value of membership is lost. The clubhouse is years behind other clubs like falcons point that has a phenomenal clubhouse. I conduct minimal business at Willowfork, but would definitely do more if there were more seating areas, meeting areas, quiet places to talk to clients“
“I think the Men's bathrooms in the clubhouse are worse than terrible and no locker rooms, no sauna, that's very lacking. As I mentioned in the previous section, I have to get a $100+ per month membership to another gym with full bathroom, locker, sauna, and full gym. I wish Willowfork had these.“
