TIP #1
STARTING POINT
A lot of people put so much pressure on themselves to make the perfect video that they just never start; they’ll spend so much time planning and drawing moodboards that it's easy to get discouraged. I think the hardest part is just doing [it], so if you can get past filming, you’re already halfway there!

TIP #5
GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME
NERDING OUT
I’m a total nerd, so when I’m fascinated by anything I’ll dig deep and do my research. It’s so fun learning new things and I think the learning aspect of the everchanging world of YouTube is what kept me enthralled for so many years.
“I never intended to gain a huge following on YouTube— that’s why my username is so hard to remember.” —Christine Nguyen
TIP #2
SHOT ON IPHONE Some of my favorite YouTubers shoot their videos from their phones! So many people think they need to drop a load of dough on the newest DSLR when the truth is that it’s really just the quality of the content that counts.
With beauty tutorials I find that the more I do them, the easier they get! Keep a notepad with talking points if you feel you might get stuck. TIP #6
A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS
TIP #3
ONE STEP AT A TIME For me, it’s really tough to prep for a video, film the video and then edit it all in one sitting. My mental capacity just can’t handle that. Break everything up in a couple days or so.
TIP #4
LOOSEN UP
It's so cheesy but whenever I’m having fun and making a video, it really shines through. When I’m making a video just to have content out there, I can feel the tension and it’s just no fun to watch. 150 LOCALE MAGAZINE
TIP #8
Some of my favorite brands include Glossier, MAKE Beauty and Dr.Jart+; I love the no-makeup, makeup look.
KEEP IT FRESH
If something is trending and you try to make a video about that topic, it’ll just be too saturated and that can leave you feeling unmotivated.
TIP #9
TIP #10
Like so many things in life, you really just have to love what you’re doing in order to move forward and feel fulfilled.
People are infinitely fascinating; I learn so much just from sharing a meal with someone. Through those interactions, fresh ideas come and it’s easier to find motivation when someone else is holding you accountable.
