*in memoriam and with gratitude
For over 149 years, through the leanest times and grandest evenings, the Ghostlight has cast a warm glow over our intimate stage. It’s a beacon for the muses of drama, dance, and music – a spark of brilliance to keep creative spirits company from curtain-down to curtain-up. The strong and steady support of the Lobero Ghostlight Society illuminates our behind-the-scenes efforts and – like the steadfast bulb at center stage – keeps our vibrant theatre from ever going dark.

Celebrating 50 Years There are many ways community members can become involved with the Lobero beyond attending a performance. The Lobero Theatre Associates are a dynamic women’s auxiliary group who are passionate about the Lobero and view our historic theater as a community treasure. Their mission is to aid the Lobero financially in whatever way they can to help keep this architectural and cultural jewel vibrant for future generations. Associates can also be found at the theater in a variety of other roles, such as volunteering for a committee, ushering, decorating for an event, or hosting a luncheon. Established in 1972, The Lobero Theatre Associates have raised millions of dollars for the Lobero over the last five decades and will be celebrating their exciting 50th Anniversary this year. The group, with a current membership of approximately 70 ladies, welcomed 12 new members this year. These fabulous fundraisers are always open to new members who would like to help make a positive impact on the Lobero. One can join as an active member, if they have time to attend monthly meetings, or as a mini member, who is involved more casually. Either way, all members have access to exciting top notch social events, such as the lovely annual Signature Holiday Tea each winter (where prospective guests of members are encouraged to attend), the Hats Off Luncheon each spring (with a special invited artist or performer), the New Membership Luncheon, The
Associates’ Night Out, and more. The ladies host events around town at various venues, such as The Biltmore, Uncorked Wine Kitchen, SB Yacht Club, La Cumbre Country Club, the Lobero’s courtyard, or at the home of a generous individual on a committee who offers to host a luncheon. It’s thanks to their stellar partnership that audiences can enjoy the Lobero’s outdoor entertaining area in the courtyard, the Steinway grand piano, the updated ladies’ restroom, the beautiful holiday décor on the esplanade, and so much more. Despite challenging times during Covid, The Associates have managed to keep donations coming. The entire arts community benefits from the work of these ladies and we are very grateful for their passion and dedication. For more information on how to become a member, please contact The Lobero Theatre Associates’ President, Mindy Denson, at mindydenson@gmail.com. Mindy has been an active member since 2016 and President of The Associates for the last three years.
