Congratulations LOBERO TH EA T RE ONTHISMOMENTOUSOCCASION OVATION CELEBRATION 150 1873 2023 LO BERO TH E A T R E @FESSPARKERWINERY CONNECTWITHUSON www.fessparker.com

In this year of the Lobero’s 150th Anniversary (aka our Ovation Celebration), we have collectively spent a lot of time recognizing our past, celebrating the present, and looking toward the future. It’s been a banner year in every way, and we have so many exciting things ahead.

Despite our constant activity, however, sometimes what gets lost in the shuffle is just what a simply magnificent structure the Lobero Theatre is and has always been. Dare I say — it’s easy to take for granted the George Washington Smith/ Lutah Maria Riggs architecture, the added accommodations spanning many decades, and the undeniable impression our building has had on Santa Barbara’s overall look and feel. All of this as a direct result of the 1925 devastating earthquake that leveled much of our beloved city. And while audiences often get swept away by exhilarating performances on the stage, Architectural Digest draws attention to the artistry that

exists within this spectacular venue itself. To be among the 11 most beautiful theaters in the US, or even CA, would have been a tremendous acknowledgement. But to be chosen as one of the 11 most beautiful in the world? That’s an earth-shattering accomplishment!

And here’s where I bring the attention back to the supportive patrons in those red cushioned seats. If not for your ongoing involvement, the Lobero — which prides itself on presenting world class performances and partnering with our local arts community — would not have aged as gracefully, nor maintained its elegance throughout the years. YOU continue to make a difference at our exquisite historic theater, and we hope you feel our appreciation each time you join us. Thank you for your support!

ENDOWING THE FUTURE

“I love the Lobero” are the words I hear most often after mentioning I work for the theater. This treasured venue has had a place in the hearts of our community since its inception. Over the years, the Lobero family has created a cherished cultural heritage which has been enjoyed for generations. As we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of this historic theater, let’s work together to endow its future. Show your “love for the Lobero” by making a gift to the Lobero Endowment Fund. It’s easier than you might think.
