About Me

I am Rishabh Kombrbail. Do take a peek at a few designs I made but compiled this week. If it is knowledge you seek then this portfolio isn’t bleak. Go on, Read!

1Eyedrop Innovation

The problem I have solved here is the difficulty of using eyedrops. We often tend to blink, the drop falls out or the bottle is too hard to press.

01

The modified cap fits on the eye drops bottle normally with the check valve keeping the solution from leaking. On the right we can see the cap in use.

The Cap is the main innovation that has a tissue roll padding and a simple check valve. The bottle has a portion substituted with latex to make it easier to squeeze.

2Chair Design

My inspiration to design a chair using an existing product/technology was first a laptop and then a modular device like the nintendo switch until I finally settled on the umbrella. There are two ways in which I defined the umbrella. They are:

Something that expands into an object with a larger surface area and something compact. Below is the ideation for the first and to the right is the ideation for the second.

The sketches above are those of the seating inspired to be modular like the nintendo switch. The char has attachable armrests and a backrest which can be assembled to form a table with the backrest at the table top.

3Handle Innovation

To solve the problem of not knowing your baggage weight or miscalculated baggage weight, I came up with an attachable handle that acts as both a scale and an extra handle with straps to secure the bag and prevent breakage.

SENSORS OVER WHEELS

4Lunchbox Design

This is a group project in which we did an intense research on the brand, NABA, the user, students of naba and the product, the lunchbox. This is a jist of the research we did.

09

These are a couple of moodboards for the user and NABA respectively.

10

Upon choosing the type of user we want to design our lunchbox for, we dove into making the final product. This is the final outcome, a silicone outer cover with a grid on it that houses a collapsable inner container made out of a polymer that absorbes oxygen to keep the food fresh for longer.

This is an older prototype. We started here but since it was a bit too boxy and complicated with too many elements, we moved onto the prototype on the left that is way more simpler.

12

To raise awareness about the excessive use of technology and the dying out of real face to face communication.

5Awareness Campaign

The thought behind this is that one may complete the poster thinking it reads ‘songs’ but upon turning the corner the sentence flips and leaves you with a strong moral.

Year 2 Portfolio
13

The message I want to depict through the poster is that with the advent of technology there is a lack of communication which leads to unnecessary misunderstandings. We can avoid this by using the technology to bridge the “communication gap” rather than widen it. Below are the ideations for the same. The orange (above) had the most imact so it was what I chose to use as the final poster.

conTRACKt

a device that can connect a worker to a prospective employer basis their location in addition to assuring job security with a set contract. It is for those workers who cannot afford smartphones. I have tried to make the interaction as easy and minimal as possible (keeping in mind their lack of digital knowledge).

7Graphic Design

I am an ambivert so I like my space as much as I like exploring and so using only basic shapes and type, I made these two logos.

Year 2 Portfolio
17

My moodboard is very minimal and futuristic which was the vibe I wanted to convey through my logos and monogram.

2021-2022
18

These are the 4 posters I made, of differing genres but the same phrase. The phrase I chose was “The Match” since I thought I had a lot of freedom with this phrase because of its multiple meanings.

Awkward Silence

Silence of Anticipation

Silence of the Morning

Silence of a Sleepless Night

Silence of a Heartbeat

After taking a range of sounds and visualising them, I made multiple compositions and patterns with applications for some of our favourites. I chose The Sounds of Silence. The ones on the left are the sounds visualised and on the right, the final compositions and patterns.

I designed this packaging for 2 eggs with a minimal and narrative approach. And also designed a welcome kit packaging with dynamism as my concept.
