FUN FILLED ACTIVITIES FOR SCOUTING COMMUNITY IN ARLESEY

1st Arlesey Scouts were super excited to hold their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 14th September down at the Scout Hut on Cluny Way as a way to say a huge ‘thank-you’ to our Young People, their parents and the wider Arlesey community who have supported us over the years. It was a particularly special event as last year we weren’t able to hold our usual activity and BBQ event and were instead confined to the computer screen. This year we had a range of fun and engaging activities including giant bubbles, camp-fire cooking, tent races, a fantastic rope bridge (constructed by our Explorers) and our famous Scouts BBQ. We encouraged everyone to dive in and have a go at everything we have to offer, and love to see new faces coming along to support us. We also said ‘thank-you’ and fond farewell to some of our longer standing team, we said goodbye to Dave & Jacky Morton who have been with us for over 10 years in both our Beaver and Cub sections, their leaving has left some big shoes to fill, and we wish them all the best in their new roles at district. We also saw our Group Scout Leader, Chris Dodds hand to mantle to Karen Brett; Chris has been with 1st Arlesey as GSL for 7 years and has helped grow the group to record numbers seeing us add a new Beaver Colony and Cub Pack in the last few years. We were also proud to see a number of our leaders and committee members being recognised for their contribution to the group and scouting with numerous awards handed out by Biggleswade District Commissioner Rob Pullinger. 1st Arlesey Scout Group wouldn’t be here without our volunteers and supporters, thank you for everything!
